Maybe it's morning.  Faye is sleeping in.  Sam has come a-calling at what a 14 year old considers an appropriate hour.  OR - Bubbles realized it was a kid and could tell by the absence of weaponry that she did not present any real threat.

If it's a civilized hour, are Jim and Veronica there, too, (perhaps to make an announcement, or just to deal with some more mundane family business)?

Faye's had that scar since her breakdown after her father's death.  She got it in the car accident that put her in the hospital that may or may not have been a suicide attempt of her own.

Goddamn, this comic made me laugh out loud.  Skullmaster Sam is always a welcome presence, even when she's breaking and entering. (Or Marten, Claire, or Pintsize just let her in.)

Like many others, I can't help but wonder how Sam got into Faye's bedroom. I'm guessing that Faye slept in for whatever reason; maybe it's Sunday morning? Marten (I'm pretty sure it would have to be him; I can't see Sam accepting anyone else's authority on it being 'okay') decided to let Sam 'surprise' Faye with a 'nice' visit. Bubbles was okay with the prank right up until the point when Sam went into Skullmaster mode and started shouting.

I'm guessing that Sam's on the way to her sword-fighting practice, given that she's got her skull-pattered fencing face-guard. If so, then I'm hoping that Bubbles agrees to accompany her. For a while, I've hoped for Bubbles to be Sam's "Sensei-Sama" in the Way of the Warrior - To teach her responsibility as well as skill.

More solid prediction for next week:
Sam has 'dropped in' to see Marten and Faye (I'm not sure if Jim and Veronica will be there too; Sam seems fairly independent, all told). Sam, being Sam and being both intelligent and absolutely without any real understanding of personal boundaries (a typical teenager, in other words), loudly asks Faye if Bubbles 'is your girlfriend'. Cue much Faybles blushing and stammering, overlapping words to the effect of 'no, we're just best friends', followed by Faye asking Sam not to spread rumours.

Sam's response will be: "Okay! Okay! Geez! Adults are weird!"

Faye and Marten will volunteer to take Sam to her destination (probably the sword-fighting club). Before she goes into the building, Sam tells Faye that she and Bubbles would be 'cool together' because, y'know, giant robot girlfriend! How could that not be cool?

That leads into the week afterwards, which I think will be Faye and Marten talking about Faye's own feelings and Faye asking for advice on how to proceed (on the grounds that Marten has a stable relationship and thus, in Faye's mind, must know all the answers). I predict that Marten will be somewhat surprised that Faye and Bubbles aren't already in an intimate relationship but had been too polite to say so aloud beforehand because neither of them had raised the issue in front of him yet.

As much as I wouldn't doubt Sam's capacity for breaking and entering, I would suspect she is there with Jim and Veronica, and Marten let them all in.

I can only assume that Bubbles was up and aware of Sam's presence and who she was before Skullmaster woke up Faye. Considering Bubbles kicked down a door in a few seconds when she heard Claire shouting in the next room I think her reaction would have been more intense if Sam had just burst in unannounced, leaped on Faye and started screaming. But having the weekend of us speculating how Bubbles was going to deal with everyone after sending Sam to the hospital would be pretty dark.

I'm suspecting that her issue is more akin to Faye's with a form of survivors guilt combined with other things including the mental voids caused by the entire memory thing, but she's not displayed the stress reactions as of yet that are normal for human and animal forms of PTSD.

Agreed.  And I think Bubbles senses are similar to a Terminator in that she can instantly assess a threat and react.  Skull Master or not Bubbles detects a loud teenage girl an reacts accordingly.

I don't think Near Lurker meant white as in Caucasian. I think they meant white as in bone/paper/etc. I either didn't see or didn't notice Sam not having her skintone colored in at first, but it seems that Near Lurker did.

Sam fits pretty well for just being well tanned.
We know she spends a lot of time outside, doing things like exploring swamps.
She is both ripe and sun-dried.
