Scam pop-up ad on main site with Android
« on: 11 Apr 2018, 19:29 »

Right now when I go to questionablecontent.net from my phone, the site is up for about one second before being replaced with a talking pop-up saying I have won a gift card.

Check your phone for malware. Might be something that latched on to your ID. Might also want to clear history and cookies on your browser.

These happen every time I check the site on my phone. Redirect ads are a recurring problem. It's not a malware or cookies problem, it happens no matter how many times I clear my history. It's an ad scripting issue.

Have you tried with another phone?

Or does anyone else had the issue?

Note that no one in this forum can do more than give you generalised advice.  Jeph takes a strong stand against unprincipled advertising practices, so if you email him about this at the address on his contact page, he will check, and if he can find any advertisements that don't meet his standards he will get them blocked from his site.

I will have done a split to CLIKC by the time you read this and there's something that had to stay here.

Uninstall whatever internet app you use. Then, reinstall it.

That tends to be the solution for malware on cellphones.
