Has a QC character ever ran into your dreams?
« on: 02 Jun 2018, 20:25 »

So I had this terrible awful nightmare last night. (Mundane type stuff bad people, bad situation etc) Now at some point I think Martin just was randomly at a party in the dream but I'm unsure.

But Dora was at the party and she was my friend and was the only person in the dream who KNEW me(Martin didn't know me) who was super nice to me. And this was right before finding out Dora was actually an AI.

But it was something she didn't want to talk about at the parry but she gives me this huge hug and wants to see me later. So the rest of the dream I find myself dealing with weird mundane nightmare stuff and then walking the streets trying to find Coffee of Doom.

I think the dream ended after finding a diner of some sort. But it was so bizarre. I found myself chasing after Dora in the dream because she was legitimately my friend and knew me and was super nice and kind to me.

And trying to catch up to her was what eventually helped me wake up from what was a uncomfortably mundane and muggle nightmare.

If I want to go into dream interpretation it is pretty simple. I'm having a nightmare surrounding real world stuff. No monsters no Freddie just real world stuff is creating this dream and it is ultimately a nightmare. I run into Martin briefly and I smile. Then I hear this deep personal SCIFI secret(which is key) about Dora and Dora knows me and greets me as a close friend.

And just like in a movie sequence my friend helps me escape the nightmare dream world.

Basically it's ridiculously simple. When the real world overwhelms me I need sometimes fantastic and science fiction to escape. I don't need fiction, specifically it needs to be science fiction which is why Dora is an Advanced AI in my dream. But basically she is, again just like in a movie where someone is trapped in a dream, providing a bridge. She's just as normal looking as other characters but has that element to her that breaks the dream.

Dreams are fascinating. And as many people have established some characters feel like friends. Dora has always been my favourite because she was established very early and has always been courageously queer. And she gets great lines. But once more to overanalyse it's as if my fictional friends were trying to free me.

martin wanted to be the hero but it didn't work because he didn't really get me. Dora enters with a deep scifi secret that has me chasing her to help her and be compassionate to the point I wake up.

The mundane stuff with people and living spaces was truly awful but that part with Dora it was if my fictional world became sentient to rescue me from the evil reality of IRL.

I knos this is a really long post but. wow. It's got me getting deep into philosophy and the idea that I would be more likely to see the Doctor and Bill Potts as more "real" than the QC gang. But on the same token... between the Doctors, their companions, Iris Wildthyme and Panda...... Dora likely is the most approachable in this reference. I've always seen her character as very opem to approach people and surprisingly out about her orientation. And even then in the dream it was shocking how friendly she was with me and legitimately wanted to talk about her being/finding oit she was AI.

A little like dreams may come.... Buried in a horrible reality and needing a lifeline.

I don't normally write about dreams but this just was so soaked in deep cosmic philosophy I couldn't help myself. Especially because I wouldn't expect QC characters at all to be my rescuers.

I don't remember any characters showing up but I have had a dream about the forum.

Hmm. Your thread is both about QC, which puts it in the Comic sub-forum, and about a dream, which puts it in the Weird Dreams You've Had thread. I'm honestly not sure whether to move it. Any preference?

You could always leave it here and post a link to it in the Dreams thread.

I have had a dream about Melon. In my dream she reveals that she's actually super-intelligent and the whole "dumb blonde" thing is just a facade to throw people off the scent.

Wow, she's an amazingly good actress then!
