I list A L I E N as probably my all time fave film.

The franchise itself has had its ups and downs, and the ongoing (apparently) prequel series has been hinting at some of the ALIEN mythos which was thrown around back in '79.

These shorts... well... those too are a mixed bunch.
I haven't watched "Alone" or "Harvest" yet, but if either of them are as good as "Specimen" then that'd be cool!

I think I prefer ALIENS, possibly because James Cameron immediately realised that he couldn't match Ridley Scott for making a thriller and decided not to. Its one of the few times where the sequel doesn't try to copy the first film and tries to make something of its own. And it works.

Also the Power Loader. Always the Power Loader.

Alien is scary, and to me its the scariest film I'd ever seen. Aliens in contrast is insanely fun.

Toss-up between Alien and The Descent on the scary-measure, though that's mostly due to my mild claustrophobia. Alien is hands-down the better film.
