Actor Peter Fonda has passed away from respiratory failure due to lung cancer. He was 79.
Most famous for his role in the film Easy Rider, Fonda was seen as the face of counterculture, as well as several tragic incidents during his life, including his mother's suicide when he was 10 and a near fatal shooting incident at 11. A reference to this incident can be found in the John Lennon song "She Said She Said".
In more recent years, he played roles in Ghost Rider and the remake of the film 3:10 to Yuma.
