Well, Faye's forgiven Sam it seems. Here's hoping Beeps likes their kitty cat.

In my defense, I'd only slept for two hours and couldn't get back to sleep.

Let this be a lesson to everyone, don't get behind a keyboard when you've had no sleep. You're going to have a typo accident.

You should see what happens to that poor letter 'j'. Not my fault it can be used as a 'y', an 'h', and 'zh'.

One again we're reminded of just how sweet Sam can be when she's given time to actually think about things. I also think that it does a good job of the degree to which she's become Faye's surrogate baby sister (and I've got a feeling that Amanda wouldn't mind being the middle sister in the slightest). We're also reminded that, under her spiky armour, Faye is a very good-hearted woman who, if given the chance wants to help.

The alarming thing is this: May is right. It probably will be better. However, for legal and tax reasons, it would be better if she ends up a part-time employee of Union Robotics.

Poor May will finally be getting fixed up, hopefully it doesn't throw a wrench in any of Roko's plans on getting her a new chassis...   Wait...  May being around an impressionable 14 year old???  I need an adult!

I like how Sam’s idea bulb is an energy-efficient LED one.

Also, May is entirely correct. Though I’m not sure about the legal position of a 14-yr-old trying to hire someone. Might have to technically hire herself out to the shop or maybe Jim…

At Sam's age, would she have even seen an incandescent fillament lightbulb outside of a museum?

Wait...  May being around an impressionable 14 year old???  I need an adult!

I think that May probably has enough common sense not to talk sex with her new supervisor on her own initiative. On the other hand, if Sam initiates (maybe about that boy at school she was dared to kiss)? Well, then all bets are off and May trying to be the Lurve Doctor might actually be funny!

As for May's potty mouth? Sam spends time around Faye Whittaker; she's heard it all and, or so I suspect, has the tanned backside from her father to remind her not to repeat Faye's turn of phrase!

Still plenty of them, especially in smaller decorative-light sizes, in stores where I am (Ohio, USA), right alongside some LED and even flourescent standard-socket bulbs. Flashlights and other portable lights are nearly all LED.

Memorial Day is in May, I think.
The 11th of November is Veterans Day in the US and Remembrance Day in other parts of the world.
So I imagine that Bubbles, if not attend a ceremony, would probably mark it in her own way.

My partners are the two most forgiving people I have ever met, and I feel like even they might find this to be very generous of Faye.

Like, I am still mad at Sam. And she isn't real. Faye lives in their universe! That is a superhuman level of tolerance and forgiveness.

I think if the QC-verse did not have WWI it would have diverged too far from ours to be recognizable. ( WWI Armistice Day >> Veteran's Day )

Given the rate at which comic time progresses in the QCVerse (last time I checked, it seemed to run about 30 strips per day of in-universe time), I'm not sure Jeph even bothers to sync strips with the real world. Given that and the fact that the human characters in today's strip are dressed for warm-to-moderate weather, it's likely nowhere near Nov. 11 in QChampton.

Because you paid thousands of dollars to learn how, so obviously the universe can't allow you to make use of that skill and investment by actually working on your field.

Well, with the bout of alcoholism, job loss etc etc, it's entirely possible she's not been in the mood, too.

It would be interesting if falling for Bubbles inspires a erotic statue project.  :-D

Less pessimistic: it says good things that
1: Faye stepped the fuck up and supervised Sam this time.
2: Bubbles trusts Faye enough that Bubbles could goof off while Sam is using power tools.
3: As an abstract sculpture, Faye sort of has a degree in fabrication, which is exactly what she supervised Sam in doing.

"How am I the only one not doing art here?" Faye asks. Well, frankly, Faye, it's your own 'fault' (if you want to call it that) for specialising in an oeuvre that is so niche that it has few applications outside of dedicated sculpture. Photography and ink art both have a wide range of applications. Making metal shapes that are interesting? Nothing, beyond what you're doing here and even then only tangentially.

At least Faye knows enough to tell Sam to not leave May's lubricant on her body. Not even May knew that, much to Sven's discomfort!

Now... Am I the only ones who think that 'BeepsSexySpraysShots' is going to go viral fairly quickly? I wonder how Beepatrice will react to suddenly being a pin-up on a lot of young beings' bedroom walls?

No. 3 in the good things list -- That's it, exactly. Art is where you find it (or put it), even if you don't see it right away. But, yes, Faye, I feel like that sometimes, especially when a friend whom I've caricatured uses some Bitmoji or whatever it is nowadays for their social media profile pic. But then I get a commission and things are OK with the world for a while.

As with many creative endeavors with substantial material and time costs, you only get to keep doing it so long as you have a client to bankroll the project or enough alternate income to pay for it yourself.

(I do custom computer mods/rigs and only get to do the REALLY fun stuff when I have the money to pay for it myself)

That said, Faye does have access to a full fabrication shop now, and probably a pile of scrap material, plus a lot of time on her hands (if her griping is to be believed).  She could take the time to make something that showcases the shop's skill and capability to put out front as a conversation starter.

That, or we could yet see a Mayspresso machine...

That's all well and good, but then Faye is using workshop material for something that isn't work. Okay, fair enough, Faye might keep to using scrap material, but making something into art is going to use fuel for the welding, electricity for any arc devices and cause wear on tools that might be used elsewhere.

If the workshop was doing better where they could offset the costs of Faye's sculpting, by all means yeah, but Union Robotics looks like its stuck in the red and sadly I don't think they can afford to use material like that.

What would I do if I were smart?
I guess first I'd stop taking the stupid pills.

Is it cold in here?

Faye's sculpture is salable. The dinosaur got snapped up by a gallery. It could be revenue.

New comic is up, and this is definitely not the direction I thought it was going, but this would be really great for May.  I totally forgot what Beeps' regular job was!

I don't see why May would be barred.  She was convicted of embezzlement not sexual offenses.

I'd be afraid to find out whose orifices would need such destructive testing.

Yeah, come to think of it, that would be May's dream job, wouldn't it? I seem to remember that the only time we've seen Beepatrice at her 'day job' she was standing next to a dildo that had a little brick of plastique taped to it. She was supposed to closely observe what happens when the explosives were detonated. I'm not sure what product safety legislation the tests are meant to satisfy but they must have been misapplied somehow!

Meanwhile Beepatrice is wonderful with her bashful nature, isn't she? I think hanging around with May for any length of time will be destruction-testing her blush-emulators though!

I'd be afraid to find out whose orifices would need such destructive testing.

The manufacturers probably have May's attitude towards human sexuality: "Is there nothing that these creatures won't do to get off?" They probably basically decided that they need to be ready for the most extreme fetishes imaginable rather than an embarrassing and otherworldly lawsuit!

A unique art piece! It will point the way to a future groove!
Not sure if this meant to be a pun. But pretty sure he'd be kicked out of that museum.

The test specification just said "Firewall tests" so they're testing various scenarios involving the words "fire" and "wall" in some way
