So how about the London athletics world championships

Plenty of upsets huh.

Agree! But that is a sport. I think athletics is one of the best sport. It is easy to understand who wins in comparison to some subjective sport like the figure skating

"Athletics" is known as "Track and Field" to those of us on the other side of the pond.

Track is, indeed, an interesting sport.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the University of Wisconsin at Madison has a football team that is UNDEFEATED in regular season play.

For context: there are currently two other teams in the NCAA Men's Division I Football Bowl Subdivision that are undefeated. One is the University of Central Florida. The other, the University of Alabama, is currently losing to their biggest rivals, Auburn University.

And Alabama lost. To be honest, I'm for any kind of upset or result that leads to exposing the current "playoff" system and cause it to collapse in its own ineptitude and favoritism. Go to a 16-team knockout playoff - each conference winner + 6 wildcards, and we'd have the same excitement of the basketball tournament, and we wouldn't be leaving out a lot of schools who have arguably earned the right to at least try for the national championship.

Last night's game with Belgium and Japan was something else.

Whereas I wanted Belgium to win (for reasons) I think it was pretty cruel that they got their goal when they did (with 10 seconds to go). Just think ti would have been slightly less cruel getting it in extra time when Japan could have at least had time to try and fight back...

Great game though!

I asked it elsewhere: why was Colombia so upset about the placement of that wall on the penalty kick in the first half? And WHY didn't the ref Red Card that Colombian player after the head butt?

Honestly, this super bowl has been pretty good. Game was entertaining, commercials were enjoyable, and the half time show was alright.
