Yep, back with another niche poll (sorry).

All of the artists listed above can be found on youtube. Some of them do electro swing or swing fusion exclusively, others don't.

EDIT: poll edited because somehow I forgot to include Sarah Stiles (Other Friends) and I dropped one of the other ones originally listed.
EDIT 2: Some frames of reference for the poll (in order) under the spoiler warning

edit 3, just highlighting the samples addition.

So niche that the only name this old person recognized is Sven is Not a Mooch, which is a very eclectic band indeed.

Gooseworx wroteb composed and animated [Little Runmo[/i] and did the music for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss.
Caravan Palace did the recent hit 'Lone Digger'. Sarah Stiles wrote 'Other Friends' from the Steven Universe movie. Dave Wave is known for movie music remixes. And the Musical Ghost is known for electro swing remixes of Undertale songs.

The rest turned up in the results when I was trying to find what The Musical Ghost's username was because I had been blanking on it.
BTW, I'm happy to have come across The Electric Swing Circus's music.

Comic's up.

Elliot and Renee are both pretty quick-witted. I can't do that kind of impromptu repartee - I'm more of a l'esprit de l'escalier guy.

...I mean, everyone in this strip is quick-witted... and most strips, really.  It's a pretty standard suspension of disbelief.

Well, now I know why it's called that.

Just a reminder that Renee and Elliott were both originally written to be an alternate Faye and Marten - Right down to the neuroses and self-image problems. Jeph has done a good job in fleshing out both characters into their own people but those key similarities remain.

I find myself wondering if Jeph is planning to, at least for now, explore what happened if the Strip 500 Talk had a different outcome. Elliott and Renee are both going to admit that their romantic lives right now have hit a rut and are unfulfilling. Acknowledging that they have a generally-positive history but that maybe they wouldn't be particularly healthy for each other, they decide to at least try a relationship just to see if there is something there that they're missing because the way their brains keep on tripping them up.

At least Clinton isn't the only one who keeps visualising Elliott as a caveman!

...

I keep seeing Clinton/Elliot/Renee/Brun as a 4-some with a random re-pairings happening every so often, with Emily as the randomizing particle that keeps everyone in motion.  Emily hasn't yet been explored as a sexual being and Elliot is clearly conflicted about his role in the sack.  I wouldn't be surprised if Clinton turn up trans too...

Yes, Elliot is sweet, pure and a cinnamon roll in all ways. What is more, it's clear that Renee prefers him that way. I'm more and more sure that Jeph is going to write the two of them at least trying dating and a relationship, just to confirm to themselves that it won't work and, when things like that happen, sometimes there are strange outcomes. Especially with Jeph's character writing. I mean, come on, Taira is something that was meant to be an awkward joke when Dora was still with Marten and look where we are now!

No matter how that works out, Renee really needs to get out of the casual scene. It's clearly not doing anything positive for her at all!

As much as JJ is teasing us with the possibility, I don't think Renée and Elliot are going to be a thing. Workplace romance is not a good thing in most cases, at least at a workplace this small (employee wise).

A cow-orker is a co-worker that you don't want around you for some reason.  Often, the reason is related to the persons inability to do the job, or total lack of interpersonal skills, that somehow make your work more difficult than it needs to be.

Okay not as scary as I thought but I do block the urban dictionary for a number of good reasons.

Noun. cinnamon roll (plural cinnamon rolls) A rolled pastry flavoured with cinnamon and sugar.
Synonym: cinnamon bun.
(slang, neologism) A person perceived as good, gentle and kind, often a fictional character who undergoes emotional suffering.
 :psyduck:
Oh crap what is JJ planning to do to our gentle giant?
We have one couple on the mend.
A person that has come to grips with their issues
Two more in various mixed states of mental and physical anguish
Our former MC still bobbing along in the Sargasso Sea of life though they now have a life vest and possibly a paddle

Is the term generaly used in a particular field or type of work, or is it a regional term?

To me, it also implies a "moo-cow mentality" to a degree. Someone who lacks their own opinions or ideas and goes with the crowd (or "herd") on things.

The really interesting part of this? That intimate gesture was completely subconscious on Renee's part. If Elliot hadn't called attention to it, I'm sure she would never have been aware of what she'd done.

I'm honestly wondering if this is the first time that Elliot has actually realised that, yes, Renee is attracted to him. The shirtless thing was just too bizarre and I don't think he was in the right place to realise the context at the time. Now, however, I suspect that the pieces are falling into place.

Elliot, old son, whilst it's smart to consider the downsides and possible problems ahead, assuming that the worst-case scenario will be the outcome to the point where you're afraid to do anything is a sure-fire recipe for misery. If you want anything, you need to occasionally take a risk.

Am I the only one expecting Renee to attempt to force the issue by trying to set up a three-way date with Clinton and Brun? It strikes me as the sort of boundary-crossing thing that she'd do!

Meanwhile, isn't it sweet of Elliot to come right out and tell Renee that he isn't interested in her romantically rather than leave any ambiguity? That's a loyal friend right there.

1. So why does this week cover SIX comics ? (4195-4200 would be six comics)

2. Not going to spent endless time on YouTube just to fill out some poll, sorry.

3. I'm surprised that I'm apparently the only one who is upset that a healthy young man is apparently only considered "pure" if he acts as if he didnt have a healthy young sexdrive as well. Seriously ? Sexy pictures only showing ancles ??!?! Yeesh.

Can't say I'm exactly upset about it, but... well, I can only assume Jeph was going for the lulz, but it landed with a thud as far as I was concerned.

I do think that we've had at least a week of on-the-nose dialogue. The fact that we're still on page one is a good indication of how flat it's all falling (sorry, Jeph).

1) I was tiredwhen I posted the thread (couldn't sleepl
2) Approximately 20 to 30 minutes, if even that.
3) "AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!"  Joking aside, we donct know that he doesn't have one. He's cripplingly shy when it comes to romance. He has been since he was first introduced. It's been speculated that he didn't have the best home life growing up, but Jeph hasn't specified anything. Additionally, Elliot does his utmost to respect others' boundaries.

It won't, but for some reason the numbering on the last 3 WCDTs has been one # too low. 4200 is the last comic of this week though, so maybe it will be right next week.
