I know this poll has already been done, but I figured A) coronavirus should be left in DISCUSS and B) the adaptations poll idea can be greatly expanded upon. I tried to reign it in to options that fit the series and pruned it back to under 20 options. There's a surprising number of videogame ideas once you start thinking about the myriad of genres and subgenres.

Any director, any studio, as always for this sort of thing. Not entirely sure who I'd want to direct a QC movie or which studio I'd want for one of those animated options.

EDIT: Yes, I went down the QC VG rabbit trail hard. I'm betting you all can spot where that started happening, too.

I think that, as well as an animated TV show, I'd like:
  • Questionable Content - This is Northampton - An RPG/walking simulator where you play a resident of Northampton, MA and must do various random quests for the main cast whilst completing a main quest (Getting a job with ECI? Seeking out Spookybot? Writing a newspaper report on the alleged weirdness in the town?). Can also include romance simulation with one of the non-canon NPCs;
  • Questionable Content - Union Robotics - A Software Inc.-style business simulation set in Northampton with the option to employ or do subcontract work for various canon characters;
  • Question of Age - A serious crossover of post-canon Dumbing of Age with Questionable Content. A couple of the DoA canon characters moving to Northampton because they're doing their post-graduate degrees at UMass or Smif. Mostly because I think that Joyce Brown would probably be a hilarious barista at Coffee of Doom and I'd love Dorothy Keener as the AI Advocacy Group's "token meatsack" (her words). Then there are the two mysterious superheroines, Amazi-Girl and The Spyder...!

Y'all know you've got 4 (four) votes to cast, right?

They got used.  :-)

I'm generally in favour of a series over a movie or a game, and it appears, early on, that one certain viewpoint is quite popular.  Mind you, it's early.

Maybe you've tried this, but how about weeks upon weeks of polls: who would play Marten, Faye, Bubbles (heh), etc., etc.

Animated series (western 2D), non-canon dating sim, and [something else] live action series (I actually envisioned that years ago).

Based on the Untitled Goose Game, a game where Pintsize goes around pranking the rest of the QC cast.

To do:

 * Drop bucket of goat pee on Faye
 * Trick local TV station into broadcasting Marten's porn collection
 * Have a delightful afternoon tea with Claire
 * Get crushed into a tiny cube by Bubbles

Besides the animated series I'd be in for VR game in the likes "Fairy Tale in Northampton", randomly crossing paths with the characters. Maybe even Spooky Stories.

It could go either way. It'd make for an interesting background mystery to come across little things they've done here and there. But, it's been postulated that the Marvel version of Merlin is the player character in that multi-dimensional game with blue  Thanos [forget his actual name] as the BBEG. So the PC optiion works  too.

EDIT:  Lost my train of thought and forgot to add that last sentence.

... Would Marten be bishe or a parody of the standard harem anime protag? QC kind of starts out as a subversion of the latter.

Most of the bishie anime characters I'm familiar with seem to me to be self-parodies anyway.  And they virtually all have much longer hair than Marten.  The nearest I could find quickly to a bishie Marten was this:

The game is you are a student of a university in Boston; you accidentally moved to Northampton (before the many embodied cybernetic intelligences emerged) because your ride back to Boston ditched you while you were checking out the consortium. You aren't necessarily interacting with any canon cast, but they're there, in their world. (The astute player may notice a greyscale humanoid) Free form Rollenspiel. You start as a campus tourist. (You only later find out that your ride home cancelled.)
One of the playthrough possibilities is: after trying for days to find work, to buy food, to find a place to live, unsuccessfully because you're a theoretician who eschewed practice, met Emily Azuma and hit it off (intellectually---as the player, if you can keep up (or play through it slowly enough) then there's a whole (abstruse) course in whatever Azuma practices, but often on a highly mathematical or highly metaphysical level that takes high cerebral fortitude (of the player, and of the character) to understand and tie back to one's reality---and maintain one's sanity at least almost as well as Azumasama); things are looking up, until Azuma unwittingly transforms you into a dog. To spare yourself the embarrasment of him finding out that he turned you into a dog, you leave; the astute dog will notice the greyscale humanoid, and, curiosity piqued, follow him (insufficiently) subtly (naturally, he'll notice) to a tiny apartment (stupid front door to the building still needs fixing), and insist, sitting by the door, imposing on what is like maybe the only survival opportunity. Yay! You made a Newfriend. (The game continues from here, vel cetera.) (He, naturally, senses something about your condition, but takes some dog years to figure it out, consider possible responses,, His arbitrary charity certainly doesn't help. You, I mean, it doesn't help you.)
In this free-form Rollenspiel, there is also a ``walking simulator'' that is really a VR link to the inside of station (but only station knows about this. The others in station think it's just station being eccentric for some reason---playing multiple personalities) As a dog, you are able to connect, and regain your pre-dog form (albeit, only as a hologram---but you can talk!, you can dance!, etc); eventually, compliments of your Newfriend, (yes, you own your Newfriend, they feed you, they groom you, it's patent---you are their master) there's also a similar ``walking simulator'' to Union Robitics, but you are have no presence there, except when Union Robotics is closed for the night, when, it is uncertain whether really, or simulately, you can control it. After some time, when people start walking around with custom-sculpture heads, Faye gets suspicious, and quietly stakes out the workshop, to find that---you'll have to play the game to find out.
Somehow, this fits under the umbrella of Lemon-therapy. The medium of the game is your dreams, networked using the advanced version of the Trans-Consciousness Messaging Protocol. (Specifically, an advanced version of the Asynchronous Trans-Consciousness Messaging Protocol---you download all the data into your mind while awake (many a person is able to simultaneously use his mind otherwise). You can load-up the game when you're entering, or already in, your dreamstate. Yes, you're in a pod. No, it's voluntary.) Gesamtkunst.
So...do we christen this ship Clinpatrice or Beepston?
Beepton. Definately Definately beepton. Beepton is a good ship. Definately a good ship. They have so much in common. Like. Like. Like, being putting up with everyones' inebriety. And. And. Yess. Definately Definately Yess. That thing that they have in common. That.. oooohh. Yesss.

Well Millefeuille has genitalia, but it may not function the same way.  It’s also possible the ouzo might be boiled away by her robotic systems and will vent out through her neck.  Either way something will smell like licorice.

So, the fact that Millifeulle hasn't shorted out strongly implies she has a stomach analogue. How she deals with the stuff she consumes will probably come up later in some weird manner. Meanwhile it looks like the following has been established:
  • Brun is the kind of drunk who makes dares;
  • Millie is the kind of drunk who accepts dares, the less advisable the better;
  • Millie was lucky enough with Dora and Tai to find two women who were as wild as she is when intoxicated. Something tells me that Beepatrice isn't as tolerant.
So, panel 2 - Is Beepatrice happy to have made a friend or, like Roko, is she wondering what Clinton's human abs look like?

One of the other game Ideas I had that I liked was a build-a-bot sort of game. You design custom chassis to suit a soon-to-be-embodied AI's desires. It'll start of simple to reflect the starting parts pool, and as you advance the requests get more complicated as you unlock more parts. There'll probably be a recurring AI that can't be satisfied until the end of the game.

Well Millefeuille has genitalia, but it may not function the same way.  It’s also possible the ouzo might be boiled away by her robotic systems and will vent out through her neck.  Either way something will smell like licorice.
I'm going agree with BenRG and whomever suggested it last week on the stomach analog. Probably a collection tub or tray.

Pre-Singularity? No. However, now the AIs and their preferences are a growing market in their own right, I imagine that high-human-fidelity features like pseudo-digestion and fully-functioning genitalia are increasingly popular features.

Sounds like an 'alphabetical by author' scenario.

I typically go by subject and group series together. I'll also further subdivide anthologies into their own section witjin their subject.

That's all well and good, but the question becomes: within the author, how? Some lexicographically titlewise, but methinks better chronically (editionally). But series; naturally, sorted together; but internally? Often indicial and chronical are tantamount, but where differ, some inferiously. Into it's author is a temptation patently improper; pertinent is when have been all?
what I really want to see is the QC live action series - I was thinking of a sort of "Red Dwarf" style
When set to hardcore mode, preventing interöneiric interruption---a feature decried by hypocrites (and some their students) as counterproductive (historians, later, would note the correlation of novative 2^nd order acceleration and it's edition. an economic analysis has indicated reduced interpersonal distinction; corroboratory studies are inchoate)---in my aforementioned Rollenspiel the player might ``awaken'' to being exactly what he hates. For example, one might ``wake'' to find that he keeps his (cyberal) library paperbound, sorted chronologically, by the time of the latest edition by that item's editor, relative to the time of his acquisition of the previous (lexicographically, by it's previous owner's tax-id) item in his library. Naturally, the superior organization is indistinguishable from noise:
'd likely drive poor Beeps nuts.

Something else to add to the database on Beepatrice, I guess: "Likely too helpful." Instead of doing what would, at least to me, be the obvious thing and put the books on the shelf in the order I fish them out of the box, Beepatrice would prefer to use some organising method otherwise she's just not doing the job!

Panel 1 and... yeah, Beeps really is a social wallflower isn't she? She looks as reluctant to get in the middle of the party as I usually feel!

Why do I have a feeling that if a human said what Millefeuille just said, it would be, like, one of the most racist things you could say to an AI?

And now I'm imagining everything that would go along with it: different schools of thought among AIs about avoiding "beep boop" all together versus reclaiming it and making it THEIR word, humans with robotic prosthetics like Clinton claiming that they're part-robot and therefore have "beep boop privileges"...

Dang it, why did my mind go down this path into this pit of snakes? Millefeuille's a lamp now. There. I'll focus on that.

You didn't spent a lot of time in that part of tumblr, did you? The one where everyone is competing to prove moral superiority well beyond logic and reason.

Methinks Fox demonstrates: Thousandleaf's Drinkr™'dness is lampshade-hat.
Why do I have a feeling that if a human said what Millefeuille just said, it would be, like, one of the most racist things you could say to an AI?
The reason is that that phrase is racist---regardless of the author or audience of a particular instance of that phrase being expressed. Specifically, it describes some misconceptions, stated in a way that may be (mis-) interpreted as generality (and some may earnestly believe that falsity). Furthermore, this falsity presents that class of persons as of lower value. Whether it is bad that that phrase was said by that person, depends wholly on the value of the changes that that instance of that phrase effects in the world. In this case, who suffers? Presently, only Thousandleaf---and he seems to be doing so willingly, or unwittingly. (My esteem tends towards the latter.) If that instance of that phrase is correlated positively with some harm, it is not the phrase (or any instance thereof) that harmed, but something else, possibly associated with that phrase.
More important are cases in which a racist item may cause harm, such as an otherwise initiative cybernetic intelligence being refused employment which requires initiative agents, e.g. due to a misconception that cybernetic intelligences are necessarily uninitiative. That would be something that people should care about. Instead, there'll be all those tumblrine (un-) intelligences acting on what one said.
where everyone is competing to [demonstrate] moral [``]superiority['']
The only argument from me, presently, is that they are wasting their, and their audiences' times.

There's no way that Millie could be useful in her current condition and as she has rejected Renee's request to sober up (which is rude, IMO), Renee has done what she has to do to keep her out of the way whilst those in the apartment still capable of useful function are doing the unpacking.

Millie is one of those real Janus characters. Pleasant, intelligent and interesting whilst sober, an utter disruptive and annoying ass when drunk. I wonder if she knows this or whether she's in denial and thinking that there is a different reason why she has difficulty keeping friends?

Just to add another modifier to the list of options in the poll.

The Anime movie is either a Studio Ghibli production or (shudder) Clamp (I personally do not care for the super elongated character models they use)

I do like the Red Dwarf style live action idea - definitely not modern Hollywood-esque scifi overuse of certain unnatural colour schemes and illogical decor.
The only challenge I see is makeup for the androids to smooth out the details and imperfections found on a meat chassis.
Feet issues are easily dealt with by just not showing android bare feet.

Grown-up time-out. Time out as a punishment is a foreign concept to my mind. As a way to mollify tense situations, it should be hidden from the timed-out. Good-parenting points for Fox. (Fox has experience; Brun's childliness.)

Someone pointed out that Brun hasn't suggested that she wants to fight Beeps. Does this mean 'fighting whilst drunk' is how Brun expresses affection? That remains to be seen.

What we do know is that Renee is apparently very experienced in wrangling troublesome drunks. There is probably a story about this and it likely was one that took place when she was at college. That said, I think it's hilarious the degree to which Brun and Millie have totally bought into the 'this is something important that I need you to do' narrative.

What's the bet that the plant will end tonight with a name and suddenly be Brun's best friend in the world?
