The problem with binging.....
« on: 20 Oct 2020, 15:00 »

I recently discovered QC, and immediately found it right up my alley; the humor, the tone, the characters.

And in the space of a few days, I had binge-read my way through the archives.

Twice.

(Sigh) Big mistake. Cos now I find myself a consummate whiner. "Whhaaattt...whaddaya mean I have to wait 24 hours for ONE measly new strip?!? Waaaaaaahhhh!"

Anyone else here that failed to pace themselves and subsequently suffered QC withdrawal??

It happens for all of us at least once in life, I think.

I, for one, I think have been waiting the full 24 hours each day for the new strip for something like 15 years  :psyduck:

Also welcome, was your account created for you by an excited Billy Corgan?

No, but I can definitely confirm that the song is about me.

It was just one night, but wow. Guess I made an impression!

(Hey, it's the Internet...no one checks on these things...)   :-D

Welcome to the cult!  Give your location and someone will be by to walk you through "the ritual".  Also buy a shirt or a mug on topaco.

While accumulating to "binge", I might "binge" others.

YES me absolutely. I discovered it about six months ago and read the whole thing in around six days. By this point I've probably read each strip seven or eight times, though I've only gone start-to-finish once. I find myself clicking "random" a whole lot when bored.

I hit such powerful withdrawal after finishing it for the first time that I bought myself a fairly cheap art tablet and began teaching myself to draw.

Then might I suggest Shaenon K. Garrity & Jeffrey C. Wells' webcomic Skin Horse? It's been running for 15 years and takes place in the same universe as Narbonic (which ran for 10 years). The comic follows a team of shadow government social workers who serve non-human sapients.
