WCDT 4396-4400 (Nov 16th to Nov 20th, 2020)
« on: 14 Nov 2020, 23:50 »

I was originally going to ask about cold weather drinks, then I saw Friday's comic number. Yes, I opened with what I felt was the most ridiculous option. Running the gambit of probability was fun, but I'm still surprised at myself for how many of these are romance based. Sorry.

EDIT: 3 votes like usual, this week.

Forgot to actually select "other," but that's my first choice. Clinton's apology to Elliot goes awry and causes deep rifts within their friend group, leaving Renee to clean up the mess once again. Renee can't keep her temper, and it's ultimately Brun who works things out.

I think weeks of cereal eating strips, one for each character, even some background characters, even non-characters, at Dora's and Tai's wedding, could be interesting.

May and Momo run into Sven. Momo confesses her crush on Sven, one thing leads to another, and Sven wakes up with a pile of robot ladies. And a watermelon. And Winslow, who came when he heard Roko was there.

Possibly not this week.

But I think Sven might meet May and be a bit weirded out by her new body.

I know I am the President and Founder of the Still Thinking Sven is a Fuckbag club, but I don't mean it as him being an asshole this time but because he wouldn't be looking at the same eyes any more. Kinda literally.

It might even be a problem.

On second thought, I'd like to revise my prediction. There won't be a watermelon there. If Roko is present, it'll be a loaf of sourdough.

I just want to put my vote in for 'sexy tow truck driver'. May has just the right attitude to deal with people who parked their expensive car in front of a 'No Parking - Tow Away Zone' sign because they "didn't think it applied" to them!

I also like Sven's reaction. He really is strongly afraid of being seen, even indirectly, as having "funded a girlfriend upgrade". He may be an ass sometimes but there are certain lines he wouldn't cross, including implying to a girl that she owed him certain 'services'. I'm not sure if that hasn't occurred to May or whether or not she'd just doesn't care!

So, if we accept the Brun Khouri Test as diagnostic for sexual attraction in Questionable Content, what exactly should we conclude from the fact that watching May flirt with Sven has a strong affect on Momo? I'm not sure if it actually means anything but I have learned of late that I don't have the same shipping instincts as Jeph so I'd be interested to learn what everyone else  thinks!

May's shirt glitched out, it seems.

Eh, I wasn't going to mention it but, as someone else has, it will be interesting to see if Jeph acknowledges that error on his Twitter feed!

Okay, for my "other" vote, I put:
Clinton finally wakes up after a week unconscious (only a couple days in QC time, but still) - and realizes he really, really shouldn't drink...
(Also, "Clinton, drink more water")

I love Momo's expression in the second panel when Sven appears - she still has that crush on him, doesn't she? Don't fall for the bad boys, Momo dear...

May could drive a repo truck.

Or be a plumber - the last 3 I've had to deal with had similar attitude problems.  Of course, that may have been when they were being called to my house, not what they were called for.  What they were called was, for them, routine, even if it was on a weekend.

May could drive a repo truck.

This calls for a Patreon-only pin-up of May in partially-unzipped overalls and carrying a Colt Python 44 with the title "Repo Gal".

Seriously, that and 'bounty hunter' seem to be two professions open without question to former felons. Both of them seem to fit in for a Synthetic with social integration problems!

He definitely didn't want her to know. But this comic got me thinking about a potential May/Sven relationship. Sven's biggest problem is that he let's his man-whore tendencies take control, and it hurts the people he's with because he doesn't break up with them first. May, being an AI, could potentially have multiple bodies. She also would probably love roleplaying any stupid scenario that Sven wanted to, as long as Sven would reciprocate that with varying humiliating sexual circumstances. Not saying it's gonna happen, or even should happen, but it seems like a pretty great match to me.

It's the hair, probably. Ironically, the same hair that Momo had early on when she got her new body, but Momo never had the Harley personality to go with the hairstyle

Or would that be too much nerdiness for May?  :-D
On the plus side, she'd get to play with a lot of swords! (May with swords, I should rethink this...)

No, Momo is not chill at all.

I suspect a day is coming, possibly soon, when Sven and May both separately realize that they have caught a bad case of feelings for each other. Sven will be confused and May will be horrified. Neither will speak of it for far too long.

It seems the Questionable Contentiverse has some differing social rules--most notably, total honesty is more acceptable.

And I can't help but feel that overall, it would seriously improve the real world if people were that open, especially about their feelings.

Yeah, people generally donít speak that way, which is why there are a billion articles on 'on-the-nose' dialogue and how to avoid it.

That, and this is another recycled joke from Elliotís last chapter.

Poor Momo! I've got the feeling that it's all going to come pouring out during this encounter. So, the sense of things being uncomfortable and awkward is only going to get worse for Sven and May! FWIW, though, 'chill' has never been a characteristic of Momo's from the very start. She's highly-strung, impulsive and constantly struggling with what she wants as opposed to what she thinks is 'appropriate'.

This calls for a Patreon-only pin-up of May in partially-unzipped overalls and carrying a Colt Python 44 with the title "Repo Gal".

I'm sure there's a joke in there, but I'm not seeing it. Even took out my microscope..

No, no joke. It was an entirely serious suggestion! I'm not sure but I do have vague memories of a film called 'Repo Man' and the image in my head may have been based on its poster.

It would provide a shake-up, to be sure.

I was right about the reference!

The one with Emilio Estevez, right?

Since May's new body is new so to speak (as in a new model) it will be interesting if she meets another soul with it as well.

When I read this, I almost went AHAHAHAHAHAHA.... but stopped myself.

You see, my first inclination was to burst out laughing about the idea that the Internet was a place of "honest openness about feelings". This is simply because I have encountered too many of the users - who use forums and the internet in general to manipulate content in order to further obscure honest interaction.

But, yes, I can see that it is possible to be open and honest online - I just wouldn't count on it  :-\

Heck, look at me - hiding behind emojis and excessive italics...
