I am stoked. Not sure whats going on with the human story, but the Kaiju fights looks nice! No offense to Kong, but I hope its a draw or Godzilla wins.

People are already picking the trailer apart and noticed something BIG! And if it's true, this would not only explain why "Godzilla is attacking people now" (which is the reason they get Kong) but be a huge nod to one of the original movies!

Its Mecha-Godzilla! In his original debut movie he was made from the bones of the original godzilla and resembled Godzilla, like a perfect copy. He attacked Toyko, which confused everyone since Godzilla was a good guy now. Then the they noticed the real godzilla showed up and fought the faux godzilla. As faux godzilla was taking damage the exterior facade was falling apart to show that it was mech-godzilla.

Yeah, a few friends and myself think that its MechaGodzilla and the real Godzilla has probably been captured/drugged or incapacitated.

But I do like that they're really pushing Kong as the main character of the film.

after Kong punches Godzilla on the ship, Godzilla slaps him back

The Godzilla we're seeing is actually MechaGodzilla, created using the skeleton of the Godzilla from the 2014 film as a frame and controlled by the brain recovered from Ghidorah's severed head in King of the Monsters. MechaGodzilla will be revealed during the fight with Kong, where the ape uses the axe to split open the shell, revealing the cybernetics beneath. There's also a theory that MechaGodzilla will kill Behemoth (the sloth like Titan with the tusks), which will be what draws the real Godzilla into the fight.

Well I just saw the latest Chinese trailer, and they revealed a couple of things (spoilers):

1) The hollow earth is important and accessible for Kong in Antarctica.

2) Mecha-Godzilla is activated. Not sure if he is activated to stop Godzilla or if its like the original Mecha-Godzilla where it disguised itself as Godzilla and started wreaking havoc. Causing people to think Godzilla turned on them.

I just watched the movie. I liked it! I think I liked King of Monsters more but this is still a great movie in the series (I have a feeling its the last movie though). I know some critics complained about the human story parts, but honestly I liked them and it, while a little goofy with the Godzilla Team (as I am dubbing them), advanced the plot and clued you into what was happening. The Kong Team was a fun exploration of this world and ties in well with the Godzilla Team's separate plot.  The kaiju battle are great, the story is decent, and it was fun. My only nitpick is there are one or two scenes of Kong that seemed like it was in slow motion when it wasn't suppose to be, but other than that everything was great.

If I was to rank the Monster Universe film I think it would be:

1. King of Monsters
2. Godzilla vs Kong
3. Kong: Skull Island
4. Godzilla

Honestly I only moved Skull Island to 3rd place because it was more fun than Godzilla, but I think the Godzilla movie was more respectful to the original film from the 50s and is still a good movie.
