Is Pintsize wearing a skirt, or does he have a towel wrapped around his hips? Either way: nice colours.

Claire isn't wrong here. Finances are OK now, but as soon as someone moves out the entire house of cards will come crashing down. Would it be better if Marten started looking for another job (he wants a career change anyway) so that Claire can get his? They'd have to run it past Tai first, but I don't see her refusing Claire the position.

 I love the way Marten and Claire are both utterly ignoring Pintsize - at this point, I imagine it's sort of like ignoring long-term tinnitus - annoying, but you get used to it.

Giving Pintsize the benefit of the (very limited) doubt; he might be attempting to shake Martin and Claire out of their anxiety.
For all of his talk, I can only recall one example of Pintsize ever being intimate with anyone - who completely rejected him after Pintsize misgendered him.

Gotta admit, I had no idea who Pintsize was for a bit. At first I thought he was Winslow, but then realised he was the wrong colour.

There are two outcomes to the Claire's post-graduation job that I can see at the moment:
  • She becomes the equivalent of Roko in Beepatrice's office (possibly including managing the test data archives)
  • She gets a junior librarian's job at Miskatonic College with all that implies.
Meanwhile, I'm wondering if Pintsize is aware that they're just ignoring him or if that doesn't matter because saying it at them is all that he needs for personal fulfillment!

In the USA, sadly yes.

Frankly I have no clue why anybody is still living in that country. You have a perfectly fine Canada just to the north of you. They speak the same language (okay, plus French), they have a good social state, they are so much more, sorry, civilized ... what keeps you in the USA ? I'd be in such a hurry to leave if I would have to live there.

This is still Pintsize we're talking about here. Whatever he wears, you can be sure he's doing it to shock and offend.

You can get broken by a long hospitalization in Canada, too.  Not by the bills, granted, but by not being able to do your job.

And it's pretty much guaranteed you'll be waiting a lot longer for everything, to boot.  Six months to see a specialist for anything that's not top-tier "patient will die if not seen soon" stuff is pretty normal.

There's a reason Canadians who can afford it go to the US for medical care, after all...

the good news would be that even if Marigold viewership falls to the point is not profitable, everyone would go out with marketable skills to sell elsewhere so the risk is probably worth it. Also they seem to be very serious about taking care of the money entering so it last for a long time

I don’t think Canada would accept a huge influx of immigrants from the US. Or we’d have to have specific skills for jobs that were hard to fill.

Par for the course these days. Even Jeph's best stories (Bubbles/Faye/Corpse Witch story, Alice Grove) have had abrupt, unsatisfying resolutions. I wonder what other long-running stories will be resolved by Marigold's cash reserves.

If this goes through (and, on reflection, it's unfair to Jeph to presume that we already know whether Claire will go for this), one thing that we potentially can look forward to is the resumption of the Claire/Emily double-act.

Ah, if only we all had a boyfriend who could pull strings and get us a job just when someone conveniently happens to quit from that job...

Also, I'm surprised Dora hasn't put two and two together by now; she knows Marigold is a huge nerd, a gamer, spends a lot of time on the internet. If it's not nudes, then it's probably streaming.

Its at the tip of my tongue ...

Any minute now ...

Dammit !

All it takes is one hospital stay to really rack up the bills.

I don’t think Canada would accept a huge influx of immigrants from the US. Or we’d have to have specific skills for jobs that were hard to fill.

As it is, to get permanent residency in Canada as an American you have to have useful skills. The permanent residency system is based on a score that depends on things like what skills you have, what languages you speak, what connections you have to Canada, etc. I was able to get a work permit in Canada because I had a job offer as a physicist here. I have to wait until next year to apply for permanent residency, though, because right now my score is too low (your score goes up if you’ve been in Canada more than a year). So yeah, it’s not exactly trivial.

Anyway, puns… I guess if you’re just visiting, you may pull seeing Europe off, but there’s no poutine if you don’t meet the requirements to stay.

Streaming just isn't on some people's radar.
