And a good All Hallow's Eve to you, too!

No dressing up here, alas. I'm wary about going out for trick and treating with COVID on the loose...

Nicely played Claire, you need to keep Marten on his toes! Re. Hannelore, will we soon have a discussion between her and Brun about the best deodorant brands? Is Hannelore also using 'Megadry Fresh Laundry Scent'? So many questions!

Claire will have a way to go before she can do the SCORN. That's a Boss-level move.

Do I detect a hint of jealousy towards Dora on Claire's part? She'd better be careful. CoD baristas have been known to mysteriously disappear for less than that.

Something about this 'aura of wholesomeness' thing makes me wonder if it is going to be a running joke: That, if Hannelore spends too long in any given environment, people will just naturally start acting nicer? Will we see that happen at the Robot Advocacy Group?

Meanwhile, will Dora remind Claire that there is no flirting with the SO whilst on shift?

I doubt it. Dora flirted with Marten before and during their relationship.

Whow. That would be so weird and uncool on so many levels. So hopefully not. Though by now we might have given Jeph ideas ...

She still does it with Tai.
Such a rule would be arbitrarily petty and probably cause a rebellion.

Why is Jeph blaming Ubisoft for this? Was this some kind of obscure Assassin's Creed reference that I'm too much of a non-fan to understand?

Oh yeah. My daughter used to work for Ubisoft - left because of the toxic atmosphere.

We got one at an hour and a half. Walked out, without a word, and didn't pick up the phone. Found out later they got a better offer elsewhere.

Oh, he's joking and it shows that he knows his audience. Something tells me that Claire loves books whose romantic protagonist is cursed to eternal life until they find true love, redeem themselves from their past misdeeds or something similar.

I don't think Ben genuinely thought you were asking because you weren't sure, snubnose; he seemed to just be using your post to springboard to some musing about Claire.

Never burst into tears tho....

I have seen people burst into tears.

The most notable was the one who threw a crying fit because I wouldn't stay on the clock to help her with a one person job because it was "soo much work!"

Now that I think about it, I'm actually kinda surprised I haven't seen anybody complete the trifecta, first day or not, considering the kind of people we got back at the newspaper mailroom. I've seen people break things, injure people (one guy almost dropped a pallet jack on my hand because he thought it'd be funny to goof around while I was pulling a fragment of wood out of a jammed wheel) and burst into tears, but I never saw one person do all three.

I have a question for the guitar types, why a 5 string bass, if a standard bass is not enough, why not just go with a baritone guitar?

Yeah, some purists hate 'em     :-D

"Extended range" bass guitars extend the range of the instrument, usually by adding a lower B string. My son has one like that, but other examples use a high C string to extend the upper range instead.
Not a bass player myself, so I couldn't give you a definitive reason for this instrument instead of a baritone guitar - maybe it's just convenient? Maybe it's just a gimmick? ...Dunno.

I'm only guessing, but I suspect it's just a bassist's answer to achieving extended range, while a baritone guitar is a lead guitarist's answer  :-\

Disclaimer: These are just the ramblings of an out-of-practice sometimes-guitarist, don't take 'em as gospel   :-P
