"Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue"  comes to mind. Looks like Melon has only surface damage. Easily repairable, let's hope. And it seems she's been on fire at least once before. Melon does pay attention to Roko's reprimands.  She keeps count!

Might some of Nelson's goblin-like energy be just part of that series of chassis?  Pintsize seems to be mellowing one he changed his shell.

much more of, like, a wizard than a goblin. nowhere near on the scale so far of Melon, for example
most of the characters, especially the side ones, are eccentric in some way or another.
seems to me to just be a bias hazard mixed with novelty, i.e. you're primed because he kind of looks like another person you knew, and you're also noticing his eccentricity more because it's new compared to your experiences with other characters and also because it jars with earlier notions of the Nelson character based on highly limited appearances
