From all I've heard, the Mall Monkeys creators were real dicks, but I still enjoyed some of their comics. Although most of it was just hate mail-baiting, it seems.

yea, i dunno maybe my mind has just enhanced the quality of my Mall Monkeys memories.

I remember it because it was the first webcomic I ever read on a semi-regular basis.  I was also 14, so that may be an attributing factor.

So, I've turned to color in the strip. People prefer color? Or black and white?

On the web, I usually dig on color strips more (although my all-time favorite is Achewood and that's B+W), I just wish that it didn't take so damn to do.

I really like your comic, and I like the art in color or otherwise. It doesn't matter that much to me. The color is nice, but I appreciate the comedy or whatever either way, and the drawing style is unique enough that either way it's still awesome.

So I have absolutely no opinion other than I love the comic, so that post was kind of pointless.

The color looks good.  Which is kinda tricky, with some b&w strips it seems weird to see them in color and sometimes it's just plain not right.  Good job.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I'm a pretty big black and white comic fan myself, but I think that when you have the ability to put up color at no additional cost (unless you count time), then you should go for it. If I were to ever put out a print collection it'd have to be black and white, since color printing is so sickly expensive, so I should play with colour while I can.

Hopefully the color will continue to look better. The second color strip is an improvement on the first, and hopefully the third will continue that trend.

Khar - Yeah, there needs to be more metal in comics for sure.

Hey there mate, that's a pretty fucking top notch comic right there. I mean it's hard to get any comic off the ground, some people just hit it big right off the bat and it looks like you're gunna do just that. None of this "were a new webcomic and we're gunna aknollege the audience in the first strip" crap, you got right into it and cracked me up big time on the frist strip. I'll be honest and say two things, I loved the black and white more than the colour, stylistically it just looked cooler and gave it more edge. Just because you can add colour at no extra cost doesn't mean you really have to, black and white isn't a sign of cheapness it looked really good. Secondly, just a minor quibble of course, that some of the later strips weren't quite as funny but you're only just starting and it's pretty obvious you know what you're up to. I'll be keeping a close eye on this one, with so much crap floating around in the webcomic scene these days it's a pleasant surprise whenever something like this comes along.

And if people find this overly offensive, it's 2005, get used to it. I don't get the world these days, 10 yearsd ago we hit the height of acceptance with violence and offensive material in comics and the media, sure it's gotten more offencive of late, but there's also too much bitching. Eeveryone wants to censor or cut movies, stop violent games and if offended by comics like this. Why have we all of a sudden moved back instead of forward? This comic isn't the most offensive out there and really knows what it's doing in keeping it JUST under the bar of going too far. Geez in 30 more years women'll be back in the kitchen and the word shit will be censored on tv.

Thanks for the awesome feedback.

The color isn't really something I'm doing just because I can do it cheaply (although, I guess I did make it sound that way), I'm doing it because I really dig the look of some color strips and really want to learn how to colour properly myself.

Looking at the archives, I also am torn between color and black and white. The majority of the print comics that I read are black and white, so I guess I have a natural attraction to it. That said, I'm going to stick out with color for a while, even if it is slowly killing me.

The thing I'm really trying to work on now though is getting things up on time. The latest strip was a day late, which burns me up inside.

I've made an offer on my LJ that if anyone catches me updating late (after 8:30 AM PST on Mondays), they should email me and rag me out. First person to rag me out each time will get a free shirt. I'm hoping that this will push me to be on time always.

After all that talking about color, I've switched back to black and white. It feels more natural for the strip. I had started leaning that way pretty shortly after going to color, but thought that it was just my lazy side making excuses to get out of the extra 3 hours worth of work.
