Your Top ~100 Singles Ever...And Go!

List your own, you don't need to stick to actual singles, but they should be something you turn the fuck up when they come on the radio.

In no particular order, with selected commentary:

Bill Carlisle :: Feet Don't Fail Me (indusputible proof country music and hip hop are the same thing)
M.I.A. :: Galang
The Strokes :: Hard To Explain
Bran Van 3000 :: Rainshine
Ce'cile :: Rude Bwoy Thug Life
The Adverts :: Bored Teenagers
Prince :: When Doves Cry
The Ramones :: I Don't Wanna Grow Up
Saint Ettienne :: We're In The City
Cam'ron :: Hey Ma
The Avalanches :: Since I Left You
Mario Winans :: I Don't Wanna Know (not even P Diddy can wreck this)
Neko Case :: Deep Red Bells
KLF & Tammy Wynette :: Justified & Ancient
NWA :: Express Yourself
Ghostface with Jadakiss :: Run
Ghostface Killah with George Harrison :: My Guitar (I urge anyone who still dismisses hip hop to give this track a shot)
Air :: You Make It Easy (how can be this true...keep it coming...your heart's pounding...watch me fall in love)
Modest Mouse :: Whenever You Breathe Out, I Breath In (I should hate Modest Mouse based on everything I know about them, but somehow when they do stupid proggy shit I normally hate, I love it)
Jackie-O :: Sugar Walls
Sean Paul :: Like Glue
My Bloody Valentine :: Soft As Snow (But Warm Inside)
Pulp :: This Is Hardcore
Gin Blossoms :: Hey Jealousy (in a just world the Gin Blossoms would rank with Nirvana in the pantheon of bands cut short before their time)
Bob Dylan :: Sara
Mazzy Star :: Halah
Blondie :: Dreaming
Medasyn :: Boys vs Girls (everyone needs to hear Lady SOV and Shystie rapping in tandem at some point)
Britney Spears :: Shadow
Shakira :: Si Te Vas
R Kelly :: Ignition (remix)
The Replacements :: Hold My Life
Ash :: Burn Baby Burn // Sometimes
DNTEL :: (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan
Emma Bunton :: You Are
Ride :: Vapour Trail
Rilo Kiley :: Pictures of Success
Christina Aguilera :: Come On Over
New Order :: Regret
New Order :: Temptation
New Order :: Ceremony
Fabolous with Ashanti :: Into You
Hidden Cameras :: A Miracle
Keishia Chante :: Bad Boy
Roll Deep Crew :: You Were Always
Tommy James & the Shondells :: I Think We're Alone Now
Belle & Sebastian :: Expectations (B&S generally fill me with schmaltz induced rage but this single is bilesome and menacing, musically and lyrically, a call to arms for fat girls and spotty boys everywhere)
Basement Jaxx :: Cish Cash
Pet Shop Boys :: Can Your Forgive Her?
The Walkmen :: Everyone Who Pretended To Like Me is Gone
The Knife :: Heartbeats (either of the version's on the single, the album cut or the house remix, they both kill)
Aaliyah :: I Care For You
Donna Summer :: I Feel Love
Tweet :: Oops (Oh My)
The Killers :: Mr Brightside (how does a song like this even exist?)
Hole :: Miss World
Joy Division :: Disorder
Wiley :: Pick Ur Self Up
Kelis :: Trick Me
Usher :: Burn
Emilia :: Big Big World
Ultramagnetic MCs :: Travelling At The Speed of Thought
Skinny Puppy :: VX Gas Attack
Prozzak :: Omobolishire (digital guitars and the fakest british accent ever, but it's wonderful)
The Stone Roses :: I Wanna Be Adored
Puffy Ami Yumi :: Love So Pure
Happy Mondays :: Hallelujah
Damned :: Alone Again Or
The Streets :: Weak Become Heroes
Aqua :: Doctor Jones (fuck all you haters, one of the most enjoyable singles ever)
Curve :: Horror Head
Suicide :: Dream Baby Dream (the prettiest and most primal thing ever put to tape)
TaTu :: Not Gonna Get Us
Sparklehorse :: Gold Day
Dizzee Rascal :: I Luv U (the Sharkee Major remix, which is basically an entirely different track)
The Go! Team :: Huddle Formation
Shystie :: One Wish
Pras, Mya and ODB :: Ghetto Superstar
Orchestral Manouvres in the Dark :: Enola Gay
Notorious B.I.G. with Lil Kim :: I Need Another Girl
Adult. :: Lost Love (the crowning achievement of that ill advised electro/glitch/house monstrosity from the early part of this decade)
Daft Punk :: Phoenix
Petey Pablo :: Freak A Leek
Primal Scream :: Shoot Speed, Kill Light
ODB :: Shimmy Shimmy Ya
New Pornographers :: Letter For An Occupant
Air :: Dead Bodies (this needs to be the soundtrack to some chase scene in some movie sometime)
Dead Prez :: Still Bigger Than Hip Hop
Nirvana :: Son Of A Gun
Perfect :: Seven Days A Week
Oasis :: Don't Look Back In Anger
Kylie Minogue :: Love At First Sight (I know this was huge everywhere else, but is it true she still has broken the USA? criminal)
Depeche Mode :: But Not Tonight
Apoptygma Berzerk :: Kathy's Song
Love & Rockets :: I'm So Alive
DJ Falcon :: Unplugged
When In Rome :: The Promise
Guns N Roses :: Live And Let Die

This is the most ambitious second post I have ever seen. I do not have a top 100 singles list - I have no idea what the singles are from half the bands I listen to, if there are singles at all - but I like a lot of the stuff on yours.

None of my favourite bands make single. Literally just put all the Maiden singles, 'Mother' by Danzig, anything Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Cure or the Sisters of Mercy managed to push on the radio and whatever Cradle of Filth tracks they play on Kerrang! and such and that's it. Lots more of course, but 100 sounds insanely over-daunting even if I scour musical history.

List your own, you don't need to stick to actual singles...

So you basically want a list of everyone's top 100 hundred songs? Isn't that a little silly? Listing you top 10 is hard because you have to reject so many, but 100 is impossible. You can't actually choose 100 hundred songs you liek more than any others. And it would take ages. Just typing them up would be missions, let alone choosing them.
So. I'm not going to.

Okay, I don't know quite what this list is, really. I kinda expanded the remit to "Singles, EPs, awesome tracks off EPs, Title tracks, songs that got made into videos and songs that appared on Sampler CDs, plus a few tracks that are just motherfuckingly cool."

It was very hard, and this list is by no means final. I stopped when I started putting stuff back on that I had already taken off. There is absolutely no order. That would be IMPOSSIBLE.
