I saw Wilco in concert in Charlotte on monday, and they played a Woody Guthrie cover, and a man called out a request during the last line.

What is the title of the guthrie song?

And for those with no interest in this, talk about the concert or whatever.

Was it a cover of a Woody Guthrie song, or was it a song off Mermaid Avenue (lyrics by Woody Guthrie, music by Billy Bragg and Wilco)

I am not sure, seeing as how I have not heard anything off the album.

There were some lyrics about knees being in the air or something to that effect.

Considering they've done 2 full albums of Woody Guthrie songs....it could be quite a number.  Off the top of my head the one song that is a good crowd pleaser and sing-along number is California Stars which goes a little like this:

I'd like to rest my heavy head tonight
On a bed of California stars
I'd like to lay my weary bones tonight
On a bed of California stars
I'd love to feel your hand touching mine
And tell me why I must keep working on
Yes, I'd give my life to lay my head tonight
On a bed of California stars...

Probably "Remember The Mountain Bed" from Mermaid Avenue vol. 2

" Your stomach moved beneath your shirt and your knees were in the air
Your feet played games with mountain roots as you lay thinking there"

Sound about right?

That song is so good that it hurts me inside.

Seriously, I love "Remember The Mountain Bed." I just borrowed Vol. II from the library the other day and it is easiliy my favourite song on the album.

"I Was Born" is pretty, whatchacallit, "ace" too.
