Anyone else have this?

I feel so gloriously violent and terrible when I play it. Good lord, it's fun.

I've been looking forward to picking up a copy, but I'm leery of spending $50 on a game.  I'll probably buy it when its down to $35.

It is possibly the hardest game I've played besides Ninja Gaiden.  I'm about half-way through and frustrated as hell.  I'm playing on normal and I'm at the part with the lady and her damn bats!

It's out in the UK tomorrow.
Is it harder than DMC1?  I managed to beat Dante Must Die mode on that, so I should be able to handle it.

What was that saying?  Pride comes before a something?

DMC1 is like Barney's Hide and Seek compared to DMC3.

I was never able to beat the 3rd Griffon on DMD Mode in DMC1.

I fear DMC3. :(

Oh-kay, I'm out of shape.

I keep getting creamed by the first boss.
Why did they have to change the controls?  Everytime I try to jump, I press triangle and wave a sword at the massive wall of ice heading towards me.

In my opinion, it's not THAT hard, it just has an amazingly high learning curve.  The hardest levels in the game are missions 1-3 the first time you play them.  Once you get a hang of the fighting style, it gets a ton easier.

Stick with it, and fight your way to mission 10 or so.  Once you do, you'll be amazed you ever had a problem with mission 2 or 3.  If you're having trouble with mission 3, go back and play 1-2 a few more times, and earn some red orbs for equipment, extra blue orbs, and other stuff.  Also, you can save your game in the pause menu before facing the boss, and that way if you die and have to start over, you can still keep the orbs and items you earned getting there.

Lastly, NEVER go into a boss battle without a yellow orb (at least 1).  If you see a yellow god of time statue next to a door, there is probably a boss soon...so buy a yellow orb, unless you really feel like playing the mission over.  Spend your first life learning the pattern, and save your healing items for later tries.

Yes, it can be frustrating, but its one of the best gaming experiences I've had in years.

I just finished it last week. Pretty damn satisfying. No yellow orbs used, but more vital stars than I feel comfortable admitting.

It - freaking - rocks! It's so puzzling though, I mean in DMC1 the puzzles were simple but in DMC3 you'll wonder about for ages. I just beat the two fire and ice dudes Vudra and Rudra or something. Some parts are unrealistic like when Dante rode Lady's missile around the hall but otherwise it's good. The Styles were a great touch in my opinion.

I think Lady was one of the cooler characters, since she's nearly on par with Dante, and she's only human! The scene where she and Dante fight in the hallway was fantastic!
Also, complete the game on DMD mode to unlock Heaven or Hell mode: if you take a single hit, you die...that simple :)
Did anyone see all the number in the cutscenes? I missed a few myself, and I've not finished the game yet...

Awesome game, one of the worst cliche-filled-crud-script ive seen in a while, but still good.

Darned hard, though! *weep*

Completed it today. Wow. Vergil was a let down, I found him the easiest the 3rd time. I also watched the secret scene (Where you have to kill 100+ monsters during the credits) and I think he would of lost otherwise he would be commanding him. Not the other way around. But anywho great game.
