And really only created an account so I could stop the wondering about Sionide's background page.
I e-mailed him about it a while back and his reply was

404 error is most likely because those files are NO LONGER THERE.

Something due to inactivity, possibly. Don't know for sure.

I've been trying to access the site using FTP, but I can't get in...

http://www.sionide.net/ is up and running, because of the index.html file being displayed.

BUT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THERE.

Maybe it will be up someday. That would be great so that I could get some nice 'papers.

I suggest we move to something more reliable, like Photobucket then move all the old wall pappers to it later on when the site is back up. If not a total move, than they should at least be backed up somewhere where we can all access them.

I made a few Hanners wallpapers, they're hosted on my site. Nothing too fancy, but I like 'em, and, come on, it's Hanners. There's one with a title in light blue, and one without in a dark blue that matches her shirt.

Nights_Sorrow, go to the QC Wallpaper Gallery and login using these details:

username: qcuser
password: jephrocks

then you can upload your wallpaper directly to the gallery, hence - no need for rubbishy geocities hosting!!

Well, I'm sure that site worked properly 3 years ago when that post was written...

But yeah, it would be nice if someone could scratch together as much of the archive as possible and upload it to another server, or maybe a Picasa account or something.

I'm back!! After a long enough absence. Shame on me..

The AnthroPC is back at http://sionide.net/anthropc/

And I'm working on the Wallpaper Gallery again which was also a huge success, I didn't even realise people were still looking for it! Anyway it is proving more difficult because my new server isn't compatible with the Gallery software I used to use. No worries, I'm on it. and I *think* I have all/most of the wallpapers backed up somewhere so... no problems there. Stay tuned everyone!

There's a few from the old Gallery on there. I got annoyed at Gallery2 not wanting to install properly so I've gone for something a little simpler. Unfortunately, I'm the only one with access to upload files so if you post them here or email them to me (qcgallery -at- sionide -dot- net)... I will stick em on there as soon as, with credit where it's due

We're in serious need of some up to date wallpapers to reflect the current artwork. The ones up there are months old, if not years. So, get your photoshop out and whack out some wallpapery goodness and hit me up!!

p.s. A better URL will be available when I fix the mod_rewrite issues I'm having.. Stupid .htaccess

I seem to be having issues with the links for sionide. They just go to the gallery outside and it won't go straight to the pics. It lets me open them after I enter them manually, but the links only go to http://www.sionide.net/gallery/wallpapers. Ugh, maybe its just firefox. Anyway, I'll be creating a few of the ideas when I get back :^) (P.S. I'm posting this partly to get this thread subscribed) The few I've seen are great! BEautiful work guys! (and Gals!)
I'm also making a small site for backing up the art if thats ok with everyone, just so there won't be any more 404s, 500s, and suchforth. Also in case anyone else is having the same problem I am with the sionide links.

There was a couple of issues I had with the perma links.. it was an issue with my .htaccess files and the Plogger gallery software but I think I've fixed the problems now. Can you give a more specific example Bridgebrain?

I described the problems I was having on the Plogger Support Forums and I thought I had the issues fixed. ( See http://plogger.org/forum/discussion/1827/solved-cruftfree-url-issue/#Item_5 )

Don't worry about backups, I've got it sorted now.

Before hand when sionide.net was hosted on a different server I assumed back ups were being taken when in actual fact they weren't so I was left with lost data..

I've written a post about what happened on my blog ( http://sionide.net/2008/04/16/questionable-content-gallerywiki/ )

Suffice to say, I'm now backing the entire website and database up on a weekly basis, the database backs up automatically every night as well so any wallpapers added from now on will be stored and backed up on that regular schedule.

Apologies for the Gallery being down for so long but I figured there wasn't any call for them, it appears I was wrong and people are loving them.

But we now need more new blood! Get your artistic creativity flowing everyone
