If I had to pick an absolute favorite, I'd have to go with DJ Shadow: In Tune and On Time. Otherwise, my top 5 would be

The aforementioned DJ Shadow
NIN - And All That Could Have Been
311 - Live
Portishead - Live at Roseland NYC
Rammstein - Live aus Berlin

Unplugged has been mentioned a bunch of times but it is still one of my favorites. I also have 3 favorite live songs: "Like Spinning Plates" is beautiful live (I actually heard my brother playing it on the piano long before I listened to Radiohead), "Hyper-Ballad" from Bjork's live Post thing is nice, and "The Last Polka" on Ben Folds Live is my current favorite song.

If I could, I would get one of those live CDs the Pixies had at each concert during their one tour recently.

.... Is it really possible to not like Pink Floyd? I mean, some of the stuff they produced (Momentary Lapse of Reason, I'm glaring at you.) wasn't too good, but they've made some amazing music.

I only really get down with the Syd Barret era stuff. A lot of Alan Parson's production work is great, but a lot of the songs get too self-indulgent. I dunno I've never been a big fan of "prog-rock".

I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings by Radiohead is awesome.
I really like the Dillinger 4 live bootleg, mostly for the banter, cause the sound quality is crap.

there are others, but i can't really think of them right now.

You should definitely check out the Sam Cooke album I mentioned earlier.  Otis Redding's Whisky-A-Go-Go album is often regarded as his equivalent to the Sam Cooke recording, but fine as Redding's album is Cooke's is a million times better.  Cooke, incidentally, was Redding's favourite singer.

Coldplay?!

I'm going to go and sob quietly in the corner.  Next up somebody's going to nominate Morrissey.  My thread, my beautiful thread!

(Don't worry, everybody has their musical weaknesses.  I'm sure everything else you listen to is great!)

Hahah, SWEET!  I was waiting for this post!  You win a prize.  Of... something.  =P

I know, Coldplay is definitely a weakness.  I think it's perhaps the memories all tied in over the years to their songs.  Especially that album in particular.

Give me a live album by Stars, or Metric, though, and that would be top notch!

others:
daft punk - Alive (it's all one track! there's rhythmic whistling! daft punk are jesus!)
it's not a whole cd, but i really really like the live version of "Halcyon + On + On" by Orbital, especially the part where they throw in "You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Heaven" and then get all crazy in respect to them. mmm Orbital.

Absolutely.  I'm tempted to go to their show in Vancouver on the 7th, but I don't think it's going to happen, as I have no one to drag along to the show with me.  =/

Oh, no doubt. I downloaded it once I saw you mention it and have since fully ingested it.
Notable mention is James Brown's Live at the Apollo.

Just thought of another couple - about 10 years ago when Deborah Conway (Aussie singer-songwriter) released her album "Bitch Epic", a limited-edition version was released with a second C.D. called "Epic Theatre", which was recorded live in Melbourne.  It's one of my favourite C.D.s.

And for folkies, Christy Moore's recording "At the Point - Live" is an absolute classic.  That man knows how to work an audience.

Because of my sheer, unadulterated hero worship of Jeff Mangum, Live at Jittery Joe's has to get the nod from me.

Much as I love that record, I think MC5 - 'Kick Out The Jams' just beats it.

I have to agree with both of the Talking Heads ones - The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads and Stop Making Sense - and Jeff Buckley's Live at Sin-e.

Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison
Motorhead - No Sleep 'til Hammersmith

But there's also:

Sheer Terror - Live at CBGB
Life of Agony - River Runs Again

Inlander, you apear to have exceptional taste, so I shall also seak out the Waterboys album.

The Cowboy Junkies and 10,000 Maniacs albums mentioned above are both great. Others worth checking out are:

Runrig - Day of Days
Cowboy Junkies - 200 More Miles (except for an over-long intro)
Levellers - Headlights

The new Hundred Reasons live bootleg. I have been having a sexual relationship with this band for the past 3 years and i think their live show is astonishing.
