Forced to move 6000 miles to the desert.

Holy fuck, this'd make an awesome Emo song. Progemocore.

There are a lot of bands I could have seen but didn't (Stalingrad, Canvas, Hard To Swallow, Keelhaul, Isis).

heh, keelhaul are awesome. and Isis are touring this month! go see!

I'm planning on it! More gutted about Keelhaul though, II is such a good album. Oh yeah, also missed F-Minus and Voorhees because my then girlfriend had an abscess in her tooth and I couldn't have gone and left her behind, Kill Your Idols because I had an exam the next day and La Quiete in Nottingham because I was ill... Damn, the more I think about this the more good gigs I remember missing.

Since I've started listening to the Decemberists they've played about seven Chicago gigs, all of which were at least 18+. I'm 17, so this poses a problem. One day I will see them and be the happiest guy on earth.

When Muse came to town last year, they booked a way too small venue and the tickets sold out in 2 days, i heard about that and was pissed off, they then change to a different (bigger) venue and release more tickets. i, being completely oblivious,  miss these too and miss out on seeing my 2nd fave band...*tear*

EDIT: I just remembered that i missed TMBG's show because it was an over 18s and i was 17 and 51 weeks. I guess they'll never come back too...*tear*

It's going to be great.

urgh.

I'm sure it'll be worth it.

The Men They Couldn't Hang, St Patrick's Day last year - I saw their website by chance that same day (I thought they had split years ago), but too late to get there.

Also, Runrig, Balloch Park, Glasgow 1992(?)  - back then it was the biggest and fastest selling gig ever in Scotland (50,000 or 60,000 I can't remember), though a few bands have beated them since.

I can't actually think of any shows that I missed, but I went to a Ben Harper Show to see Jack Johnson who was opening last summer and I wasn't big on Ben Harper then, in fact I knew like two of his songs, but anyway, my friend that I was with didn't really want to stay for Ben so shortly after he started, we took off. Looking back, oh so sad I missed it, especially since now I know that right after we left, Jack came back and they finished the show off together! stupid, stupid, stupid...

I missed the Simon and Garfunkle reunion show a couple years ago.  Still wish I could have seen that.  Would have been great to see such an iconic band from my childhood and an obvious musical influence to most of my fav bands (think Belle & Sebastian) live.

Radiohead - Thunderbird Stadium, Vancouver

Coachella 2004 - Coachella Valley, California

Lollapalooza 2004 - Some fairground, Seattle, WA (I was actually going to go to this, but then it had to go and get cancelled!)

Rufus Wainwright - Vogue Theatre, Vancouver (I was going to go, but my friend's mother's funeral was that day. And what did her brother do? He left before the reception to go to the damn thing. AND HE DIDN'T EVEN GET EITHER OF US SHIRTS!!!!)

REM
PLUS CHRIS MARTIN
SINGING AT TEH SAME TIME.
Sucked.

I was working at the station the day the manics played brighton - I hadn't bothered with tickets, but was happily chatting to my mate about how I loved when the manics played, as loads of cute, malnourished guys wearing eyeliner came into the shop... As I said this, a cute malnourished guy wearing eyeliner came in, and just looked at me. In that way that says 'I know you were talking about my kind'...was kind of embarassing. I'd like to see them again though. I know the new stuff's pretty gash, but they always put on a good show.

Son, Ambulance played the UK a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't hear about it. I MISSED IT. I love Son, Ambulance, and would have loved to have gone, if only someone had told me about the damn gig. I dont have friends working at Saddle Creek for nothing, and they neglect to inform me of these things...GRRR.
It makes me MAD. Mad enough to use SHOUTY capital letters, even.
