Looking for San Diego musicians

Well I have tried everywhere else so might as well here too and this seems the best forum for it.  As the topic title says I am looking for San Diego musicians (hope there are some San Diego musicians here or this is pointless heh), anything would be good though I rather not join up with people who only sing, but at least play one instrument.

I am looking for people with the general same taste in music though.

I "play" (make up good crap with)the paino/organ, drums and have some other things I mess around with like the guitar which I don't really know yet.  Lots of piano down on my 4-track recorder but nothing finished.  I want to get something going with other people, maybe just even one other person though not trying to make a living, just for fun though that doesn't mean flakey people.

I'll list a good chunk of my favorites and if a lot are yours too and you are a musican you should contact me.  Age, gender not too important, just ability though I must say I am just an amature who accidently makes some good stuff.  I will give links to some samples of my music for those who are interested.  Right now I took down what I had so I'll put something back up later.  Anyways, here's the list.

Pinback, Rob Crow, Systems Officer, Heavy Vegetable, Thingy, 3 Mile Pilot, Optigonally Yours, Fantasy Mission Force, Black Heart Procession, The Unicorns, The Shins, Daniel Johnston, Neutral Milk Hotel, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, A Silver Mt. Zion, The Dresden Dolls, The Faint, The Pixies, Built to Spill, Death Cab For Cutie, Postal Service, Mates of State, Cursive, Blonde Redhead, The Danielson Famile, Scout Niblett, Sufjan Stevens, Songs: Ohia, Sigur Ros, Tom Waits, The Starlight Mints, Sparkle Horse, Muse, Bunky, Sleeping People, Coco Rosie, Mogwai, The Wrens, Modest Mouse, Half Handed Cloud, The Hidden Cameras,  Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, Iron and Wine, Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3, Xiu Xiu, The Advantage, Clann Zu, Wack Ass Bitch, AC Newman, Damien Jurado, Aspects of Physics, Tender Buttons, Franz Ferdinand, Queen, Simon and Garfunkel, Mindless Self Indulgence, The Clash, Bjork, Seabear, Ampop, Pornopop, Runk, Andheri, Bara Grimsdottir, Super System, Bakunin's Bum, MC Chris  and yes radiohead.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I have a crappy Squire that hasnt been played in years (but is covered in stickers and thusly has tons of punk rock cred), and a really nice Bass, which also hasnt been played in years (which is a tragedy, cause I loved playing bass). I've sorta been looking for an excuse to get my little amp fixed...

What part of san diego are you in? Im in the Clairemont/PB area.

I don't play other wise I'd be happy to lend a hand.  I've noticed some bands run ads in the reader looking for new muscians to take the spot of someone who moved or got married.  Maybe you could do the same.

Yeah that's the prob, I don't want to just fill in for someone else.  I want to start a new thing, but thanks for the info anyways.

Run an ad on Craig's List saying something like "Want to start a Indie Rock band?  I do so let's start a jam session and see if we can't form a band" or something.  There are lot's of musicians on Craig's List.

hmm is that one i haven't tried...hmm I have tried many, i will check though thanks...though I don't like to throw the..."i" word around in reference to me no matter how likely fitting which may make it harder, though I leave band lists to help.  I am not anti indie obviously but I have some past issues with the word/culture...meh, it's complicated.  I'll explain in a pm if you or anyone else who may want to confront me on my indie issues though I'd like to imagine that no one cares.
