From other threads, I'm guessing a lot of people have various musicians they can't stand to even hear mentioned, like Morrissey, Good Charlotte etc...
So who are the people that make your blood boil with frustration for their very existence?

Mine are...
Athlete - the only band I've ever heckled "Hi, we're Athlete" "No, you're shit" etc...their blandness offends me
Starsailor - They whine...SO badly, and the sound of James Walsh's voice makes me want to curl into a tight ball and systematically yank every hair from my head.
Taking Back Sunday - I tried listening to them, as I was curious, and I swear I have never heard anything so self indulgently, simperingly awful.

The Bravery - Its been done, Its boring...

The Others (& all the other bands in their little libertine reject circle, Thee Unstrung, Paddingtons etcetcetc) - Just, well theres no words... and no talent!

& I'm REALLY sick of all these supposed new uk bands who are the best thing ever, ie. everyone on the nme tour this year how exactly are they 'the best bands ever' when all they do is re-release the same singles over and over... Its tired, Its lame.... Get a new song!! x

Pretty much any band that go around saying/other people go around saying they're emo or metalcore when they're either rubbish indie, rubbish middle of the road rock, rubbish pop or rubbish metal. I hate them all so very, very much.

I said it in the Ozzfest thread, but Eighteen Visions, Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu are all bands that deserve at the very least a punch to the face.

I also dislike a good number of all power metal bands who substitute all ideas of coherent songwriting with 6-minute ego-wank solos. The worst ones are the local bands. Oh, how I hate the local power metal bands. I don't want to listen to your fucking 8 minute songs about epic flowers and epic sands.

A lot of the silly-haircut brigade love Throwdown too. One Life Crew make me a lot madder though. Bad and dodgy politics... urgh. Hatebreed and Born From Pain are also irritating, although in their cases purely musically.

These are bands I simply can't tolerate more than one (or sometimes less than one) song of live without getting really aggravated. Many of them are favoured by my school fellows and played too much (ie, at all in most cases) on the common room stereo. Others are just shite.

I've probably forgotten LOADS. Pretty much all straightforward nu-metal and pop-punk will appear here. Not really because of any musical snobbery, simply because I hate pretty much all of them.

Well, most bands that sing about 'their edge' or about veganism or w/e piss me off. I don't mind bands who are straight edge as much as straight edge bands.

Are Propaghandi Straight Edge? Or do they just dislike everything? 'Cos they piss me off.

The funny part is that most of the sXe people I've ever hung out with are doing some sort of drug behind everyone's back or are so pretentiously full of shit no one would want to hang out with them anyways. Case in point: I was in a decent hXe (HELMET & Quicksand sounding) band for a while and left when they went sXe. Two weeks later I was at a park with half the band dropping acid.

As for bands:

Linkin Park cause they seriously suck twenty donkey asses. Your dad/mom doesn't love you, I get it... now do something else.

Morrisey... why didn't he quit after the Smiths?

Most if not all pop-punk crap. Someone, a long time ago, did something good with it and now everyone is trying to copy it unsuccessfully.

I just don't get why Sonic Youth are still considered great. Granted I haven't heard the Nurse album but the last couple (something Leaves and NYC something something or other) didn't do anything to impress me and grew annoying after awhile.

I must confess, I enjoy a lot of the new wave of NME-pimped indie bands that many of you disparage, but I'm not going to say the're the best things ever.

That being said though, I have a violent and utterly irrational disgust over anything and anyone involved with The Libertines or *hack* Babyshambles. This is due in so small part to NME drooling over them like the Second Coming, as well as their constant idolisation of Pete Doherty who is, in my mind, a moronic skaghead who'll whinge to the papers just to buy another gram. Frankly I can see him being dead in a year unless attitudes change. Him taking heroin does not make him some romantic poet, it makes him a fucking fool.

As I said, utterly irrational. I don't *want* to like him or his music, or that of the Libertines. Any other band I'd give half a chance, but not them.

And again, paradoxically I like bands wherein several members have done drugs or died of drugs, it's just Doherty's situation and the media's treatment of it that I resent.
