Is there a good free IRC client? my free trial of MIRC ran out and I don't know if I like it enough to pay for it. And I'm not down with cracking it.

seems pretty cool. I hardly ever go on IRC, so I can't really say for certain. Also, I think you can go use IRC with some multi-platform messenger clients, like Psi or Jabber.

mIRC is free even after the 30 day trial, Just wait 5 seconds then you can hit the continue button

I use the
Chatzilla
plugin for Firefox. Although I've pretty much stopped using irc.

I generally use BitchX or irssi for *nix, and miRC or Xchat for windows.
