I used to challenge my friend to that game. Once I got like 2000 than he beat me and made me angry, so I went in paint and made my score awesome he believed me it was cool.

That was THE game to play in Junior High. I think it was a slightly different version with a worm, though-- my highscore with the worm was over 2000, but with this helicopter I can only get around 1400.

Choplifter was a game in which you flew a chopter into a combat zone to rescue POWs and then returned them to your home base. You also had to take on enemy tanks at the same time by either shooting them with your guns while flying towards them or by hovering over and dropping bombs.

I don't recall Taxi, but one of my favourites of all time was Space Taxi, which resembles your description of "you have to land semi-gently on those pads in order to rescue the stick figure." Did anybody else occasionally land on their customers just to hear them scream?

"Hey, taxi! Aaaaugh!!"
