Another amazing band that I rarely see mentioned on the boards. Their new album came out today, and I think it's absoloutely brilliant. It encompases every good thing that has ever been done by the eels, but on 35 tracks, and with Tom Waits.
Anyone else a fan, or got the album?

while i have not heard their new CD, i am a huge fan of the eels and agree that they simply dont get the accolades they deserve.

Slightly odd tunes with lots of ear candy and an awsome beats makes eels on of my all time favorite bands.

My personal favorites are "novacaine for the soul" "my bevloved mad monster party" "mr e's beautiful blues"

i have a strange relationship with the Eels, i find most of their material impenetrable, but i really love Last Stop: This Town and P.S. You Rock My World. I might have to get a listen to that to see if it it has some of those few songs they make that i find awesome.

There's a link to the album here if anyone's interested. It's pretty damn good, I think, though I don't know that much about the band's back catalogue. Which album should I get first?

Why does it take people dying for E to make an album?

Get Daisies of the Galaxy to get yourself into it, Beautiful Freak to understand it, Electro Shock Blues to Glorify in the best music they ever made, Souljacker to Rock, Shootenanny to Chill, and Blinking Lights and Other Revelations to sink so deep into the pit of the eels that you will be a fan for life. Also, Check out their live albums
