Bright Eyes w/ The Faint

i caught bright eyes with the faint in toronto last night and was supremely impressed by the faint. they had even the most cynical 'emo' kids dancing in there. however, bright eyes didn't do it for me like they usually do. (though Digital Ash is one of my least favorite Bright Eyes albums) but Conor was so totally trashed, i'm really not sure how he stood up. this proved to be quite amusing.

all in all, it was well worth it.

I'M SO JEALOUS.

Seriously, I ordered a ticket for that when it gets to the UK (£26 my arse), which is the first gig I've paid for in about a year, but there's no sign of it yet, I'm starting to panic...

But really. Bright Eyes. And The Faint. In one gig.
I'd call that orgasm worthy, but then I'm a loser.

i think saying 'orgasm worthy' is justifiable...

it was a good show.. and Conor's band was a nice medly of Saddle Creek musicians.. i believe i saw members of Cursive (but no Tim Kasher :( ) amongst other familar faces.

I still count amongst my most prized possessions a hand=drawn picture of the Racoon Penis Bone that featured on Wet From Birth, as drawn for me by Dapose.

generally real cameras get confiscated and i can never make anything good come out of those cheap disposables..

The Taint is the name for the region on the body between the scrotum and the ass. Sorry. Just a nice little tidbit i picked up the other day.

Nice picture of the Fiery Furnaces. Those guys make me el happy. The Dresden Dolls are meeeeeeh. Livable. They apparently put on a great show though. True?

Goddam, I really shoulda gone to Coachella, seeing as MF Doom, and Spoon (even tho im seeing them in june), and Ambulance Ltd. played. Phooey.

Technically, it's between the vagina and the ass.  Because it 'taint vagina and it 'taint ass.  The definition got extended to cover both genders, but the original definition was gender-specific.

I hate the Faint. I don't see what is so great about them except for their "kind of 80s, ironically retro" style. Meh, plus it's because of them that the Bright Eyes tickets are so expensive this tour. Usually when Bright Eyes comes around the tickets are 10-15 bucks, and around here they are 25, and in some places even 30. I would LOVE to see Bright Eyes, and I would LOVE to see the Faint... die in a plane wreck.

I was there too! The Faint were awesome -- we were in the 4th or 5th row at first, but then a bunch of kids started shoving people around and it became annoying so we went further back. I've totally loved the Faint since the very first listen, but I love them ten times more now that I've seen them live.

Connor was _so_ trashed. Did you notice that he changed a bunch of the lyrics for "Lover you don't have to love"? -- so for example he sang "let's just keep fucking" instead of "let's just keep touching" -- HOT.

Emo boys are sooooooo cute.

Saw them on Sunday.  I agree that Conor wasn't as amazing as I'd hoped but I think that's mainly due to the fact that he only played songs off Digita Ash (also my least fav. album) and "Lover I Don't Have To Love".

God. I was foaming at the mouth for something, anything from Wide Awake and the guy didn't give us shit.  Had only heard like 3 songs from the Faint before seeing them but they were pretty cool.  Usually not into that whole 80'sish dance synth whatever stuff.

There's a shitty review of the show on my livejournal. :-[

That song gives me warm fuzzy feelings inside.
And I like Digital Ash more than I did, but that's only because I don;t listen to the less good songs on it - I'm more excited about the Faint this time around..

I was at the toronto show too! it was great.  my first bright eyes concert (and first faint concert too, for that matter)    I absolutely loved the version of Neely O'Hara they played. And the faint were hella great.

During Take it Easy, there were 2 blonde girls right next to me singing along...urgh. i wanted to shoot myself.

Can someone post more pictures, please? that would be great.
