Anberlin - an Indie band worthy of recogition on the prestigious "Recommended Listening" page.

Or so says me anyways... :)

Far and away my favorite Indie band, they will give you chords to rawk your sawks awf one second, and then give you soothing, melodic vocals that you could cuddle with your g/f with.

I mean, who can resist lyrics like:

Boys speak in rhythm,
And girls just lie,
Doot doot doot doot,
doot doot doot doot.

Tell me how you feel,
Come on out the dark,
Then we can head back home,
And I'll know where to start .

Speaking foreign language,
Nothing I can translate.
You're speaking foreign language,
Nothing I can dictate
=====================   <---End Lyrics

Might I suggest that anyone interested in Anberlin begin with their debut album: Blueprints For The Black Market.  This CD features such hits as "Readyfuels", "Cadence", "Lovesong", "Naive Orleans", "Foreign Language", and  "The Undeveloped Story".  Actually, heck, the whole friggin CD rawks (with the possible exception of Autobahn, but hey, it's still OK).

Their more recent CD, titled "Never Take Friendship Personal" came out in February 2005 (this year), and is a very nice sophomore effort, if I do say so myself.  While it doesn't have as many songs that make me say "wow", the songs that do catch my interest are still very very good.

My personal faves from NTFP are "The Feel Good Drag", "Dance, Dance Christa Paffgen", "Day Late Friend", "Paperthin Hymn", and "Symphony of Blase".

So by all means scope out Anberlin - they're great Indie and no one should miss out on them. :)  And it would rock my freakin world if they were added to the "Recommended Listening" web page. 8)

Was it the Nintendo Fusion Tour?  If so, then yeah, that's where I first saw them myself.  They were playing alongside of Autopilot Off, My Chemical Romance, and Story of the Year - 3 of my other favorite bands :)

Oh well - I suppose not everyone's up for some Anberlin goodness :(

awww. i like anberlin. i don't think they're quiet awesome enough to get reccomended though - i mean, jeff hasn't even reccomended rival schools or low, so an anberlin place on that list is prolly really far away.

You don't think you could compete with the seminal genius of
"Doot doot doot doot,
doot doot doot doot."
