This is where you complain about bands that used to be so good, and now just suck.

Norma Jean (Luti-Kriss)
At The Drive In (Now Mars Volta)
The Blood Brothers

anyone got anything else to add to the list?

Awkward, they have really just a lot of what they used to be.

I mean, I like a few songs off of crimes like My First Kiss At The Public execution, but other than that. Nothing they have done as of late, has compared to anything that they did before.

Yeah, Burn Piano Island, Burn in my opinion was their best CD.

The Blood Brother's Crimes is better than anything they have done otherwise! Burn, Piano Island Burn is close, but dude... they suck now? :(

The last Q and not U (POWER) didn't suck but it was a steep drop in the amount they rocked until it grew on me.

hmmm, lets see...real examples?

The Moody Blues - I haven't heard any recent stuff, but right around the 80s, They sucked hardcore ass in comparison to the 70s.

...unfortunately that happened to a lot of bands in the 80s...they went all cheesey synthy and fake drummy...

Ocean Colour Scene... first three albums were gold, the next one was alright... then they just kinda flopped a bit. Though I haven't heard the latest album, the Stereophonics seem to be guilty of the same thing, though I think more they've changed their style somewhat and it's not exactly what I started listening to them for.

It's true! That one album with them sitting around in a cave on the cover is bomb. So's "On the Threshhold of a Dream". And the first album. Besides that, most of it pisses me off quite a lot.

Sublime: The lesson here is that when your kick-ass band is based solely around an excellent singer/songwriter, you don't fucking start a new band with a new singer/songwriter who blows assgoat after the first one OD's. Cock to the Long Beach Dub Wang-sucks.

Emerson, Lake, and Palmer: Ok, so they sucked since the late 70's, but I'm still quite a bit pissed off that I'm never going to be able to see them live and enjoy it.

The English Beat: Dave Wakeling, fucking retire. General Public? More like... General... Pubic... or something. Anyways, the point is, go the fuck home.

Red Hot Chili Peppers: Sorry, I just really hated Californication and I thought that By The Way would be better, but I kinda hated it too. Then again, I'm 15 so I wasn't really around in the Pepper's glory days, so I can't complain too much.

Mr. Bungle: WHY DID YOU STOP EXISTING FUCK YOU GREATEST BAND FUCK YOU RAAARGGHHHHH. OK, I'm calm now. But why Mike, WHY?! Why is there no more Bungle Mike?

Springsteen. I wouldnt say his new stuff sucks, but it seems that Tunel of love was his last realllly great album 9even if the synth is dated). The rising and goast of tom joad both had a couple decent songs on it (Youngstown is one of my fav springsteen songs ever). But the abomoniations that where lucky town and human touch have enough shittyness to overule them. Devils and dust is a step in a decent direction, but some of the lyric arangements kinda bug me.

Oh. and the ataris. They where never that great to begin with, but end is forever was a little ambitious for such a generic poppunk band. They used slide guitars and whatnot. then they release so long, astoria. Genric as generic can be. complete with 80's cover song.

The new Blood Brothers album is unbearable. The raw energy is gone and was replaced by a screaming ferret with no balls. I hate how they "tried to get different pitches" on their new album, just scream naturally, and stop wearing girl pants, they cut off circulation to your nuts, making your voice higher.

But yeah, Hot Water music are terrible now. The last Small Brown Bike album was really depressing. The last Black Eyes album was annoying. I didn't like the new Plot to Blow Up the Effial Tower's new album either.

Devils and dust grew on me realllly quickly. I think the fact that Nebraska is my favorite album of all time, it kinda kills D&D a bit for me. Both being acoustic and whatnot. I liked a couple songs off the rising, but the entire album isnt anything special. The first 3-4 springsteen albums had about a 90% great song rate on them. GFAPNJ has one less than steller song (mary queen of arkansas), BTR is near perfect and same for darkness on the edge of town. Nebraska is the perfect springsteen album IMO with "the wild, innocent and the e street shuffle" at a close second.

So I guess the thing that upsets me about Bruce, is the fact that his early albums where full of great songs. Where as his newest albums have a little more filler to me.

I will say though, Long time comin' seems like its the continuation of Rosalita. In rosalita you get two teenaged lovers, rosies parents dont like the guy cause he "plays in a rock n roll band". Kinda your quintessential good girl/bad guy thing. Then in Long time comin' its about a guy married to a girl named Rosie and how he's had a couple kids and has settled down, but the love is as strong as ever.

But the thing I absolutly LOVE about bruce, is his ability to cross genres so easy. He went from Lucky town which was upbeat rock, to the ghost of tom joad which was country roots inspired, back to the upbeat stadium style of the rising, and then back to country with devils and dust.

Even early in his career he went from story telling to straight forward rock on darkness. And then he went from Hardcore stadium pop songs, to the more brooding and introspective tunnel of love.

Man. Didnt mean to write a friggin' book on springsteen. BUt it is one of my favorite subjects.

Blood Brothers are still doing OK.

I can't believe no one has said Trail Of Dead yet.

Weezer wins this category hands down. I often refuse to aknowledge they put out any albums after Pinkerton.

HWM did take a big step down once they signed with Epitaph, but they are still good. Just not nearly as good. The most recent album is the best one they've done since signing to Epitaph, but it's still no where near "No Division." Oh well, they broke up now.

Less Than Jake has gone steadily downhill since their double peak of the two albums on Capitol. The one on Fat was sort of OK, but after that they just got worse and worse. I doubt many people here liked them to begin with.

FISHBONE. "Truth and Soul" is a masterpiece, and "reality" was amazing too. Then "give a monkey a brains" was good, but not as great. After that, Kendall joined a cult and the band put out total shit. Still great live.

I love Devo, but they did get a little spotty starting with "oh no"

damn, I know there are a ton more...

Man, why does everybody refuse to admit that Frances the Mute is hella boring (j/k, but really). I bought it the day it came out and was immensly disappointed. To me it sounds like 40 minutes of sparce spacey sounds with a fiddling with the guitar with maybe 30 minutes of decent stuff. And the lyrics were forgivable on De-loused, but two albums where the words make absolutly no sense? (Unless you read another book and spend hours trying to figure them out, maybe). Bah, The Mars Volta are incredibly overrated in my opinion.

(At the Drive-In went out with a bang, Relationship of Command is freakin' solid)

I think Fishbone's faux-freeform overly chaotic ska-core is some of the best stuff they've ever done. They don't really work as a straight ska band (a la early stuff) to me. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

And also: Go see Devo live. They realized their mistakes in the 90's and are working overtime to fix the fuck-ups. In other words, they're back, baby, back!

Also, back when they still had their good guitarist.

And they're good keyboard player, Robin.

And that bassist was pretty good.

And Nick was a better drummer than the new guy.

Also, Dani used to write better lyrics.

Cradles basic problem is that in the mid nineties there was this band in the UK called Necropolis who were a) big Cradle of Filth fans and b) loved desecrating churches and graveyards. The police caught them pretty easily because of their home-made band posters, but the whole media backlash basically scared Dani into never, ever, ever writing anything ever again that wasn't about vampires or cthulhu. He started running out of lyrical ideas for this theme in about 1999, so he just started sacking all the decent members of the band in some kind of panic. Then he sold out to a major. Twice! Also, Cradle are guilty of the most criminal mis-use of an orchestra EVER.

Agreed, New Order have gone down hill, they've had some good tunes since the first 3 albums though! Regret etc. It's just embarrassing seeing them still try to rock out like they're still young though, I actually spoke to Peter Hook a bit when he did a DJ set and I kinda wish I'd told him to jack it in, but A) I was too out of it to think of it, B) I'm too nice a guy anyway.

It's a bit of a wrong to say that Mars Volta are ATDI, Cedric and Omar left the band because they didn't want to play like ATDI anymore... Sparta (Jim Ward's new band) are a lot closer to the ATDI sound, but they kinda suck a bit too :( It's a shame they split up and it's a shame I never got to see them live before they did it :(

Joy Division/New Order: ...Yeah.  Actually I was never big into New Order in general, I didn't mind Movement and then they released one or two killer singles and that's all she wrote.

Tortoise: torch-carriers of the progression of post-rock in the 90s - torch-carriers of the grand field of muzak in the 21st century.

Death In June: they've made some mediocre material in their time along with the great dark stuff, but check out the "revenge" album All Pigs Must Die and put on the first of the remixed tracks.  Hear that?  That's the sound of a creative fart.

Nine Inch Nails: when they start sounding like other bands Dave Grohl has been a part of, something is desperately wrong.

Dave Matthews Band: I'd still be curious to see their famed live show, but I find it harder and harder to defend them considering that the majority of the (numerous) haters I've encountered consistently cite their latest work.  And I've got to admit, it all sucks after Lillywhite.  The new album was a disaster.

Kraftwerk: again I'd still go to a live show, but Tour De France Soundtracks single-handedly ensured that I would never buy anything from them again.  I'm also one of the very few people who preferred them when they still had their instruments.

Death in June was never really the same after Wakeford and Leagas left. All that collaboration stuff placed too much emphasis on the collaborating bands not being crap, which wasn't always true.

Um... Sparta aren't new my friend. They have been around and sucked for quite some time now...

I think he meant "new" as in relative to ATDI.
