Being a huge fan of covers myself I thought this was a really cool site http://www.coversproject.com/ So I just figured i'd share it. It's cool seeing someone elses take on a song. Such as Ted Leos cover of since you been gone.

I myself am working on a little cover of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, because that song is awesome.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

I like doing covers. I've personally produced a hilariously fucked up goa cover of 'Deathcrush' by Mayhem, and covers of 'Fuck Off' by Lawnmower Deth and 'Dystopia' by Discordance Axis. Each of those songs is less than 10 seconds long though, so they don't count so much.

Right now, I'm stroking my chin about doing a version of 'Cassie Eats Cockroaches' by Acid Bath, simply because it is

a) an insanely cool song
b) one of my favourite songs to play on the electric guitar

I want to do something unique with it though, and not just another electronic version.

Nice database btw? How do you contribute to it? It's missing stuff.

I don't think you can contribute apart from emailing the owners and yeah obviously they wouldn't have stuff you like mr death metal man.

*reads down the A's*

Abattoir, Abigail, Abigor, Aborym, Absu, Accept, After Forever, Agoraphobic Nosebleed...no, of course they haven't *roll*

But I mean, they have Aborym's cover of Hellraiser by Coil, but not their cover of Det Som Engang Var by Burzum.

Actually, looking over briefly, they don't have any of the tracks off 'Visions...A Tribute to Burzum'. Nor do they have any of 1349's covers, and their list of covers by Anal Cunt is woefully small...They don't even have their cover of the Beegees 'Stayin' Alive', which I thought was their most famous track. Symptomatic of just general incompleteness.

I think the joke I heard was:

How do you keep Hank Williams Jr. off of your property?
Build a statue of Hank Williams Sr.

William Shatner is the king of cover songs. I cite "Mr. Tambourine Man" as proof.
