You definately need some more faces on a circle the size of your record on the first one. Look into using an anisotropic shader on the top of the record to make it look like there are actually tracks running around it. Also, what program are you using?

It's so long since I've delved in 3d that I might be waay off when I recommend an anisotropic shader. Damn, Maya was fun, I should get back into it.

I fixed that already, which is why I posted the second image.  An "update," so to speak.  ;)
