I didn't like this show in the first season, but last night's episode was pretty good. Best jokes- the alien prank calling Argentina, and Patrick Stewart singing an Oingo Boingo song.

Patrick Stewart in general in that episode and when he shows up in Family Guy!

Granted, there's that SNL episode he did that kinda WEIRDS ME OUT.

I did like American Dad last night, though.  "When I was looking at the back of your daughter's head..."

Yeow.

I can't explain why but every joke on the show has fallen dead. I'm sure some of the same jokes on Family Guy would have me laughing though.

I think it's the pretty poor drawing + the "REPUBLICANS ARE FUNNY HURRR" thing that blows it for me.

How can you not enjoy "Sexy Cakes" and "Love Boat: The Next Generation"?

Im def. not even close to being as addicted to this show as i am with Family Guy. Sometimes its funny, sometimes its not. The one where he erased his wife's memory was really stupid though. I dont think i laughed at all. But really, getting Dick Cheney's blackberry and prankcalling world leaders on last nights episode....hilarious!

American Dad just doesn't do it for me. It's like Family Guy part two. No real deviation from that formula. Mom, Dad, Two teenage siblings, replace evil baby with evil goldfish, replace smarmy dog with sassy alien, throw in some politcal satire.

DEAR GOD SEXY CAKES HURR!!!

I don't think they've done enough with the son, there could be a lot better story there too!

I wasn't blown away by the first episode, but I do find a hilarious moment personally when I watch it.  THe fight scene was actually pretty well done too at the end.  It was no Cowboy Bebop the Movie fight scene (OBVIOUSLY) though.

hmm, its tough watching american dad without comparing it to family guy but there are some great moments. Don't get it on tv over here so i've been downloading it like crazy, some of the running jokes are classic, i particularly like the japanese kid who's constantly being mis-interpreted, especially when they meet the big fat girl and he just screams "GODZILLA!".

I find Stewie funny only when he's in the "You are SO FUNNY" tangents. I've actually used that in real life. It works. Very well.

American Dad is blah, though. It's a really a one-note gag repeated over and over again.

I kind of enjoy American Dad. It's no Family Guy, granted, but it's pretty funny in general, and it keeps getting better.
