City of God

City of God was cruel in so many ways. Gotta love it.
Spirited Away is absolutely stunningly beautiful!

I just went out the other day and purchased the Daft Punk DVD of Interstellar etc... (can't remember the full name)  Its the animated version of Discovery.  Quite amazing.

But the real best purchase was the first (and only, sadly) Season of Undergrads.  That was just an amazing show.

Nice.  I've been hoping they would release David the Gnome.

I mean, come on- in the past 2 months we have gotten both Fraggle Rock AND the first season if the Muppets.  The time is right!

Just got Life aquatic used for $9 also, WalMart movie bin raid of Total Recall and Johnny Dangerously. Plus an aqusition of Buckaroo Banzai's adventures in the 8th dimension, or somethng like that... it's a long title and the dvd case is across the room... damn I'm pathetic. Also, I'm surprised at how many of these movies you guys speak of I have. I was just looking into that tonight when I saw that Pete and Pete Season 2 came out. Turns out David the Gnome was originally a Spanish series. And...I don't think anything's in the works for a DVD. Which is disappointing.

    Man, waht an awesome movie.

And Heat was Mann's magnum opus.  Collateral was a slick-as-snot diversion to keep us occupied until...well, the Miami Vice movie, I suppose.

    Ross Noble : Sonic Waffle
    Ong-bak
    BASEketball

Ross Noble is an absolute ledge, top quality dvd.
Ong bak had some stunning moments in it, but was kinda shit as a film.
BASEketball was a pretty poor effort considering it's by the people who make the genius that is South Park.

I need to get Princess Mononoke, Akira, and Ghost In The Shell. I saw a Special Edition of GitS the other day, but couldn't afford it.

A couple of days ago I bought Gladiator (finally!) and GoodFellas (which I hadn't seen, but can now highly recommend). The purchase was made a lot nicer by flirting awkwardly with a rather pretty, and slightly flustered salesgirl.

Today I bought Dosage Vol. 3, a climbing DVD.

I kinda went nuts at Rasputin tonight.  DVDs less than $10 = impulse buys.

    1. Narc - Now I get why Joe Carnahan's name is bandied about with such abandon these days.  Daaaaamn.

    2. Dark City - Sure, it toes the line of bad comic book movie, but the ambience is so awesome one can ignore non-performances by many of the principals.

    3. Amores Perros - Depressing as fuck.  Also, the finest portrayal of urban decay since...um...Narc, actually.
