This is actually pretty cool.

I'm making a literature unit for 9th grade on the subject of "What does it mean to be adult?" with subtopics of rites of passage, coming of age, human qualities, transitions between adolescence and adulthood, etc. My professor is encouraging us to use alternative texts, and I want to use webcomics.

Unfortunately, beyond QC I'm only an occasional reader of other strips.

This is where I need your help. Can you give me some suggestions? Specific comics would be ideal (I obviously can't use the entire archive of a webcomic) but general direction would be terrific as well.

So, basically, if you know of any webcomics -- especially specific days, but whatever -- that deal with this sort of theme... linkage, please. :)

Hooray for revolutionizing English education!

you can also read the comic Jeff Rowland did before he did Wigu, which is entitled "When I Grow Up." it has little to do with rites of passage and more to do with, well, stuff.
but basically, it's awesome.
