New page!  Some of these could benefit from some basic editing (croping mostly) but I don't have a decent photo app on my work machine.  From my way to work this morning.

Autumn is most definitely in the air and it is very hard to take a bad photograph with scenery like this.  You can see the rest here.

These are some pics I took a few years ago while visiting newyork, I actually went to MOCCA and got a signed QC poster that trip....

I have since broken the camera that took these photos, and it makes me sad.
I have also seem to have lost the photo I took of Jeph, also sad.

This is a weird type mural thing on the side of the District Attorney's office in Pittsfield, MA.

It's 5 long strands of some type of cloth or something literally hanging on the side of the building. Pittsfield's where the first recorded mention of baseball in the United States was..so they've been on a huge baseball related art kick lately.

As for the tech details, I took it this afternoon with my RAZR, which claims to have a 1 megapixel camera. Nifty!

Those are actually pretty good for someone who is only first semester, however some of them could do with some basic editing (contrast and cropping).

Just and FYI --most of my pics (taken with a Kodak Easy Share that my family got for Christmas a long time ago, lol) are mostly of animals! Haha! But here's some of the nicer ones -also, sorry they are so large...it didn't down them very much...:

I used to do a lot of digital photography, but have been doing a film photography course at school that's been distracting me. I like all the options you can fiddle with on a digital camera to get wierd and cool looking photos.

I spent my semester-long photo course without taking anything I was really proud of, until today. Our assignment was to make a panorama picture of somewhere in our school and I just took my liberties with the dark room, turned on and open up all of the enlargers.

These are some of my favorites.

I still don't know which of these two I prefer. The green light is a cool effect.

Whaddya think?

I walked out onto the lake this afternoon and spent some time taking pictures.  I was basically just shooting a lot of one scene at different settings so I could merge them to HDR photographs.  These are basically the same scene, the difference is how I converted the photographs down to an 8 bit from a 32 bit image.  The first uses histogram equalizing, the second does something with gamma and exposure:

When I was done, I started messing around with the gamma and exposure settings in the down conversion from 32 bit to 8 bit images.

HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, and basically it is a photograph that covers several stops more than a normal photograph, in one image.  It's accomplished by taking multiple photographs (30 in this case) and merging them together, allowing you to capture detail in both the darkest and the brightest areas without washing them out or being full of heavy shadows.

I understand the same effect is had through preexposure of film.  I have never gotten it to work though....

I took this picture recently.  I like how rusty the movement is.  I discovered shooting in the dark made it easier to not burn the highlights and still have a dynamic depth of field.

From the photo project I've been complaining about for aaages. This isn't the actual print; it's a digital shot I took to show my friend/model what it looked like. I'm pretty pleased, though, even if the tones aren't perfect. The original (on the right) is a Hopper.

I've always wanted to learn how to develop pictures. (Totally off-topic, I know, but I read your first post and was all like "Hey, cool, developing photos!")
It seems like a very cool process, but lord knows I'd probably mess up my pictures the first hundred times. :'D

I agree. Film is wicked expensive.  DIY gives you the ability to really control the qualities of the print, but the cost of equipment, chemicals, paper, and film is staggering.  They'll pry my film cameras from my cold dead hands, but I really like the 20D.

here's some of my favs that i've taken, most of them from in and around my school (excuse the weird texture on some of them, my scanner isn't the best, and they do look a little large...maybe i'll get around to optimizing them :p):

This one was taken using a pinhole camera that i made out of a Quaker Oats container.  Put a very small hole in a box along with a piece of photographic paper and expose it for about thirty seconds.  The tube shape of the container gave it the warped look:

I developed this one using a technique called solarization which is basically pulling the picture out of the developing chemicals before its finished, rinsing it with water, re-exposing it under an enlarger, then completing its run through the chemicals:

~Rob

i love these, especially the pinhole one. i never thought of making a pinhole camera out of an oatmeal can, i will have to try that.
i found these little kits online where you can assemble your own pinhole camera, and they look like little SLRs. they're cute.

the solarization turned out really neat too.

Misconception, I really like those, especially the 2nd and 3rd ones

Here are a couple of mine, I usually do black and white...with one of those crazy ghetto cameras that actually use film (lol) but I left my 35mm at home  :-( so I've been using my digital instead *shrug* ..they arent great, but  I might post some of my good B&W ones when I return to Oklahoma in may and can scan them into my computer or whatev
