I'm not anything in the way of a pro photographer, but there was this one time I think I got it right...

These are some of my older pic-tars. i haven't updated my deviant art since like may. These first few are digital and the rest are 35mm. Last semester i got a job as a photographer for my college's news paper so i have a bunch more to upload. I'll post the better ones when i get a chance. I apologize to anyone on dial up, some of these are kinda large. Yesterday I got the paper to let me start posting multimedia slideshows on our webpage.

So just to warn you folks I have some rather...unorthodox photos coming up soon.
My housemate is embarking on his dream of becoming a taxidermist, I am capturing his first steps into this. He got some frozen mice from the pet store(the kind you feed to lizards/snakes) and all the other necessary hoodads you need for preserving deadified critters.
This is gonna be a fun one!

I sadly have no personal photographs to add at this exact moment and time, and believe me I would love to even add one of my photographs (granted they are a fraction of the quality as some of those wonderful pictures).

The pictures that won me over are the ones featuring that mental hospita,l back on the first page. I am trying to hunt out some derelict or abandoned buildings to get some Album/ Band photographs sorted, and that building would have been perfect. (heck I may even ask a few favours!)

Other pictures that won me, are the Monotones, they look fantastic but thats just my own view, I do appreciate when they revert to black and white, there is something relaxing and soothing about a colourless frame, I can't put my finger on it exactly but it relaxes me, maybe because the pictures are done so well and it just pauses life, immortalising it in that frame, providing a glimpse into the past, while they are looking into the future...

Photography is such a wonderful skill to have.

We went to the studio to do a photoshoot for class yesterday, had a lot of good times. There isn't anything fancy about these photos, we just did the assignment crieria, which was lighting and flash and x-sync stuff.

This is awesome.

I will upload my mediocre portrait photographs soon, and maybe some others. For now, here is a cup (shitty digital camera! I promise I won't post photos from it again except maybe the ones of lights going into my lens).

Mother fucking Picture Dump:

Down by the river,

Down by the banks of the River Charles (Specifically on the foot bridge from the Esplanade to Mass General Hospital)

That's where you'll find me (That train right there on the bridge is my commute home from work)

Along with the mothers, lovers and thieves

A shot down Charles St.

I was taking pictures of my altoids cans collection, and I thought the pictures turned out neat.
And I realized I eat too many altoids. I have about 100 cans at the moment:

I'm not anything even resembling a photographer, but I took a few pics on a trip to Alaska I took last year, and was particularly happy with how this one turned out.  Glassiest water I've ever seen.

Some hints and tips for the photo thread:

1) Turn the timestamp feature off before taking photos, unless it really adds to the photo.

2) Try to avoid having people's scalps popping up right in the front of landscape photos.

3) Try to make posts that other people can decipher.

Wow.  That last one makes me miss home.  Excellent photography, wineman.  I think I like the color one better, but you might want to try sepia or a reduced saturation one without going all the way to grayscale.

I like to take photos! I've never taken any classes or anything, though. I just usually take my mom's camera [ Canon Rebel XTi - love that thing ] and go take some pictures.
My favorite thing ever to take a picture of: my cat. Srsly. My mom keeps telling me she's going to delete the pictures I take of him before I can upload them to the computer.
But I usually get to the computer before she can do that. =D!

Anyway, here's a picture I took of him today, that I think came out well:

Its a bookshelf filled with a lot of college textbooks from the past 20 years.  Took the picture, then spun the camera 180 degrees as fast as I could.  Doesn't look the greatest.  It looks better on city lights.
