Just a quick suggestion to anyone out there who likes Iron + Wine to check out a great Australian band Augie March.

I'm not saying the are terribly similar to Iron + Wine, but if you appreciate Sam Bells work I think you'd like Augie March too.

Sam Bells

Beam.

And what I've heard from Augie March was pretty effing great. Although all I've heard was that This Train Will Be Taking No Passengers (probably not the title) single on TripleJ.

Oops, I went to school with a kid called Sam Bell.

Anyhoo you should checkout their albums Sunset Studies and Strange Bird.

Their new album is due out in Feb 2006.

I'm remarkably broke at the moment so I think I'll look out for some EPs. Probably going into the city tomorrow, I'll see what I can turn up.
