An iMac update and a remote and TV shows on iTunes 6, but the Video iPod is probably the biggest deal.

The TV shows thing is cool. $1.99 is a good price. Ditto the Pixar shorts. I doubt anyone is going to shell out for music videos that they've been getting for free for decades though. No mention of file sizes but they say 10-20 minutes per download.

The Apple remote would be cooler if it was set up with the Mac Mini and your TV, or some sort of Video Airport BaseStation. Not many people have their iMacs set up in front of the couch.

Can't wait to see the Video iPod in person (it's wider...but noticeably?). I was hoping for Powermac/Powerbook updates, but oh well.

I saw the new iPod on apple.com and I have to say it does look really cool. I share a 3rd? generation iPod so this new one looks great.

Remember when Jobs said he wouldn't do video on an iPod because it's too small?

I can't see watching video on an iPod screen, thank you very much.  Even the PSP is pushing it.  I can't even watch movies on a regular TV screen anymore, though.  I think my 19" CRT has made me a video quality snob.

I'm aching to get me a 46" plasma.  Mebbe next year...

But as to the iPod video...  A whole lot of "meh."  Watching on a tiny QVGA screen...  Why?  So I can watch movies on public transit or something?  Jesus.

Simple.  Jobs is trying to corner the market of secret porn addicts.  Sure, you may laugh now, but when xxxTunes is released -- who will have the last laugh?

Generally I don't care for Dvorak, but in this case...

"Microsoft can roll out a dozen cool products, and the media goes ga-ga over the video iPoda rather late-to-market Apple product. They all swoon over the prospect of paying $2 to download an otherwise free TV show so they can have the privilege of watching it on a 2-inch screen."

Whatever, Apple.

That said, I was planning to sell my mini and get a 20-gigger, but now they sell the 30g video for the same price as the old 20g. That's a boon.

My player's a Creative Zen Micro. It has an FM tuner, sound recording, and the playback quality's excellent. The only gripe I have with it is that the battery's got a slightly crappy life, though that could be because my repeated keeping it plugged in has made it lose the zero point.

My sister has an iPod. It seems to glitch more often than my PC does.

The site, Suicidegirls, has allready set up an ipod section- with a bunch short movies of the girls naked, I imagine.

Ipod will be the next mecca of porn, I guess.

Yeah, I saw some guy watching lesbian porn on his psp in my chemistry last year.  It was really kind of wierd.  I don't think I'd dig the whole video Ipod thing, Then of course I usually don't care for video anything when I'm out and about.

Extra battery life! Use both! Or, even divide by type.  Use the PSP for Lesbian only, or something. XD

Uses for the video function on the new iPod:

Watching movies/tv shows while donating plasma for an hour and a half without having to lug a fucking laptop around.

Walking to and from class, and enjoying the weird looks when you laugh at jokes only you can hear.

Headphones! Cancel out loud music, annoying people and video games and drift off into your own little world on your bed.

TV Out - Computer doesn't have one? Your new video iPod does! Download movies and watch 'em on the old tele.

Yeah, my gf got a 30gb video iPod and I really like it. A lot.

you can apparently hook your ipod up to a TV and watch stuff on that. quality's supposed to be ok (about broadcast-tv level), and if you want you can encode stuff at a higher res so it looks better on TV (and it will still play on your tiny silly screen).

so although i'm not really taken by the idea of watching video on a tiny screen, being able to take a whole TV series or a couple of DVDs around to a mate's place in my pocket is sort of cool.
