That's why I thought having a spine come out the top would be cool, because you could just do it with linework. Then again, giving it a proper think, you are 100% correct that adding anything beyond just the zip would probably take away from the what makes that artwork great in the first place.

If it is kind of a nod to your cyborg upgrades, Hannah, I think a closed zipper would be better, but it would not have the pretty shape of the half-open zipper.

A few years ago we were discussing Hannah's tattoo idea in Gabbly and I drew her a sketch that involved clowns underneath the zipper.

I don't know if she kept the scan.

Ok, so the jump from 8g to 6g is bigger than 10g to 6g. Was not expecting that. But anywho, I got the things I ordered today, so I'm starting to stretch my right ear. Lets see how this goes...

ahh, yes. If I had thought about it I would have posted a size chart actually. Stuff like that is actualy why I think it's kind of ridiculous wire gauges are still the standard for jewelry sizing.

:c I just left it in where it was comfortable for about an hour or so and then took it out. I'll take a shower later and see how far it does in then. If it doesn't go in all the way, I'll just put it in tomorrow again and gradually push it in little by little throughout the day.

Gears or circuitry - or a realistic rendering of the top of a spine - would all be awesome.

Do that. Gears and junk is overdone.

This is still my mindset. Either way I am going to have to go to a tattoo parlour and talk to someone about it so I can get a quote so I can save up for it. That first step is going to be the scariest part, at least until I go in to get it done for real. blblblblblblblblblblblublblblublublblbl

Appreciate it!! Im glad that the colors are making it stand out more. Was afraid they were gonna bleed into each other and make it look like a big cluster fuck on my arm.

Stephen bought me plugs for my birthday:
adorable tunnels with hearts

Turquoise tunnels which will go great with 80% of my clothing.  (I wear a lot of turquoise because it looks nice with my hair)

and these rad flowers which I think will pass as "normal" earrings for job interviews and what not.

I think that the plain zip would look pretty good.  The spine coming up out the top would look bad in my opinion, I am always pretty grossed out by things that pretend to be coming out of the skin, etc.  Aurjay your cogs and stuff look great and all, but I don't dig the torn skin & flesh around it.  Each to their own!

Well, is it possible that the building you work in does not just look like any old building? Somehow I think "generic music store" would not make such a great tattoo.

Work tattoo? Why not?  All I recommend is this: imagine the worst way possible for this job to end.  Imagine your boss thinks you stole from him, your co-workers suddenly think you are a creep and you get fired in a blaze of cussing and hurt feelings.   After emotions blew over could you still look at that part of your life positively?  If so, go for it.

My ears are at 2g now yaaaay! And I got tunnels for them instead of those ridiculous dumb ole captive ball rings I had before. They are just boring ole black plugs because I am pretty much just biding my time til I can go up to 0g and then I will probably be happy and get really nice wood or stone plugs. Or I'll wanna stretch some more, who knows!? Hee hee!

Hey! I have those!

Speaking of, it's my birthday on Saturday and I'm going to get my custom eyebrow rings put in (apparently they might put pictures up on the piercing studios' website!). I'm thinking of getting some new ear piercings as well but I'm also getting my sleeves in two weeks. Do you guys reckon it would be too much to be looking after fresh cartilage piercings as well as the sleeves as well? I really want to get them done (because you get free piercings on your birthday) but I'm worried it might be too much to handle at one time.

Were yours 4g and in yr ears? They were huge and heavy and they swung about comically and may or may not have contributed to my getting mistaken for a lady a few times. On the upside they did help make the next stretch feel like nothing.
