Yes. Good. I guess I'm used to morons 'cause you guys seem to generally know what you're doing, and I don't end up having to say "no don't do that ever ever ever" like at all. It's awesome.

is that scar underneath Surgical or recreational?

Not an odd question at all! It is surgical. Just before I turned 17 I had major surgery to 'fix' a pretty severe case of scoliosis. They straightened the spine as much as they could, so that the curves were reduced from about 70-80 degree curves down to 20 degrees. Then they got chips of bone from my ribs and used that to fuse the spine together. Then screwed two titanium rods to my spine to hold it in place while the bones fused. The rods basically stopped being of use after a year, but they're not gonna take them out unless something happens and they get damaged. So yeah.

My mum jokingly suggested this tattoo idea when we were in the process of seeing specialists about this, and it stuck with me ever since. When I told her a year ago that I was definitely going to get this done someday, she seemed to regret mentioning it in the first place. I told the tattooist this and he found it hilarious, and wished me luck for when I show it to her.

How is your flexibility and day to day comfort? I hope you don't have any future surgeries that might mess up the awesome tat!

though then, you could do a Tattoo of staples?

but yeah, I met a woman once who had her entire spine flayed. for fun. to the tips of the vertebra. it healed  without massive infection somehow. but the scar was wider and deeper than yours.

thus my question.

I have a few vertebrae at the ends that aren't fused (like, four and the top and three at the bottom or something like that) but the rest is one big solid bone, so my flexibility is pretty limited in that respect. I mainly bend from my hips or squat down if I have to pick up things off the ground and soforth. Doing a lot of repetitive bending makes my back ache something terrible, but other than that it is fine and most people don't even notice I have anything wrong with me. I actually was a bit annoyed at first because the scar was so straight and thin that it was hard to see. Then the top faded and it was even less noticeable. Now it is great!

I didn't even cry! The tattooist said I did really well. All in all it was fairly bearable, but up the top hurt like a motherfucker. After a while I came to terms with how it felt, so it was easier to deal with, and ben, the tattooist and I had a nice conversation about graffiti. I am still really happy with it, I keep looking at it in the mirror and giggling, or just getting a big grin on my face.

Great tattoo, Eris.

Alright, question.  I want something small written on my chest, but backwards (so when I look in the mirror I'll be able to read it).  Is this a good idea or will it look stupid?

Brilliant idea, I can see no flaws with it. When you're 90 in a nursing home you can still be smugly superior about it when the care assistant is giving you a sponge bath.

I talk to about 50 of them 5 days a week.

a lot of them do.

a lot of them spend all day staring out the window wishing they had more time. knowing their close to death and wishing they'd done it all differently.

the rest are loony/senile... and I get kinda protective over them.

Yeah, I might have overcooked the the novelty will wear off sooner than you think thing.

I had meant to imply that the regret would come sooner and continue ad infinitum. Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I think that good mods are good forever and bad mods just keep getting worse.

Today I got my septum re-pierced but at a 16 instead of a 12 (way cuter!) and I was going to re-pierce my ears, but my piercer was able to get the jewelery in without actually having to re-pierce, but we probably stretched a little bit (considering I'd gone with a gun in kindergarten, so that's probably a 20 and the jewelery we got in was also 16)
