Yeah if I could have some way of guaranteeing that my skin would keloid so beautifully I would definitely get some scarification. Though I kind of like how the scars I've gotten naturally turn out - pale and very slightly raised.

Same with mine.

Though I actually plan on getting scarification done at some point down the line. It sucks being poor and having a big list of mods you want done.

In better news, Tattoo Community Magazine #1 has been released for free across various platforms. You can download it in PDF format, epub, .mobi and also in IOS and Android formats from the app stores. It's got a lot of great art in it and has some decent interviews and articles to boot.

Shannon has put together another book entitled Meet Tommy: An Exploration of Private Body Modification and Play. The content is concerning genital modification and the link is NSFW. The PDF is free and both hard and soft covers are available for purchase.

That's neat but what happens with it? Ink, scar, thread, jewelry? Google is not being very helpful when all I have to search for is "body modification needle piercing" (shocking, I know).

I'm guessing they're only temporary. The artist uses the term "play piercing" so they probably just take them out and it heals.

Yup, it's a temporary thing, just to experience the adrenaline high of getting pierced. I couldn't do it, personally, but I always love seeing pictures.

There's a "play piercing zipper" thing too...

"Needles can be placed in fun decorative patterns. Another neat trick is to tie one long string connecting each needle and then -- for easy removal of the needles, just pull them all out at once via the string. This is called a zipper. Let's just say...it's a unique feeling with an intensity rivaling that of an orgasm."

I'm working my way up to trying it. I used to be terrified beyond reason of needles (even just seeing one was enough to make me hyperventilate) but what really helped me get over that was watching play piercing sessions.

Of course, the people I watched had done it for years and she was a massive masochist who could take a few hundred needles at a time. It was pretty impressive to watch.

Eh, these kinds of things don't make me squirm. These are all consensual inflictions of pain and I'm ok with that. It's the horrific pictures of torn up bodies and such on the news that make me flinch.

And I really want this pic tattooed on me:

Along with a line from a Peter Gabriel song that says "I have my fears so they don't have me"

I've wanted it for years now but I can't afford it unfortunately. I even know where  I want to get it done because one of the artists at that studio has a cool horror style that would fit the spider so very well.
