the two stars i got first, the big compass rose in the middle i designed myself. i'm working out a bigger design that will eventually encompass all three tattoos so they look less disjointed, but that's gonna take a lot of time and money. so it probably won't happen until my 21st (july 11th 2006). basically it's going to be old style maps, something like this http://pirateshold.buccaneersoft.com/images/maps/WorldMap-1630-Jansson.jpg with the compass in the middle and the stars at the sides. as you see, lotsa detail, lotsa time, lotsa dinero.

That has me thinking, getting "left" and "right" done on each foot would be amusing.

I need left and right tattoed on my hands, I always have to make silly writing motions in the air any time I need to know which is which. If I'm giving directions, I have to stand up and make little car motions and keep truning in the direction I tell them. That way I know if I am getting dizzy I am doing it wrong. I think labels would be helpful for me. I would label my wrists.

My friends had to label my shoes left and right once.  I also have to do both those, writting motions and driving like motions when giving directions.

I have a large birthmark on my left index finger, and it is downright embarassing how frequently I have to look at it to remember which side is which.

Illegally.

My friend got her first tattoos (stars on her shoulders) when she was 16, but the law here is 18. They ddin't ask for ID and while she was getting inked she saw a rat in the parlour.

She got tested for STDs that month and was clean, luckily, but she never returned there again.

ok yeah, a couple of questions:

1. how did you get a tattoo if you're supposedly 15?
2. why do you share a San Diego IP with Dinosrawr and Tesia?

please explain.

ILLEGAL TATTOO PARLORS THAT ARE REALLY SKETCHY AND DON'T CHECK FOR ID.

Sorry for the caps, I just already answered it above.

i'm taking this to PM though, so as not to derail the thread further.

SeanBateman, I can't tell if you are serious or kidding. But I actually think that would be a really cool tattoo.

I want to get something on my ankle when I am old enough, but I think it will be my only tattoo ever, so I want to make it really meaningful. I have 4 years to think about it, though. My mom is still pretty against it. For a while, she was planning to come with me. Then she changed her mind. Now she just says, "Somewhere where nobody will see it."

My sister drew this, it's based on a family crest.

I might get the artwork tighted up and then have it done.  I want to have her work the Kennedy crest in to, so that I get whole Irish side in neat little crest.

Does anyone remember that girl-band All Saints? One of the girls had a bar of music on her shoulder, but the tattoo guy screwed it up and drew 6 lines instead of 5. That amused me.

Anyone see that That 70's Show episode where Eric asked Leo to tattoo Donna's name on his ass, and after he kept screwing up he ended up tattooing Snoopy's friend Woodstock on his butt instead?

Your post just made me think of that.

Do it, kiddo, do it. I <3 Jeff Tweedy. I've always wanted a full piece on the side of my torso from the bottom of the breast all the way down to th hip. I don't know what I'd ever get though, so I doubt I'll be getting more ink anytime soon.

That is the only Wilco song I've heard and at first I thought it was Pavement but yeah.  It's awesome.  I've been somehow trying to think of how to incorporate something McLusky related into a tattoo.

You should!  Besides I can just imagine the various reactions from people to me saying "Hey want to see the tattoo on my ass?"   Hmmm..."mypainandsadnessismoresadandpainfulthanyours" or "icarus smicurus" with Icarus bursting into flames.

This isn't nearly as hard as I thought.

I saw this and decided to jump on the bandwagon. I have on the inside of my wrist a nautical star in the middle of some spider webs and in the middle of the star is a spider, on the outside of the same wrist I have a large traditional skull and crossbones surrounded by thirteen little skull and crossbones (smaller than the size of a dime each), I have three shamrocks on my elbow that I got for free for being Irish.

I have a bat on my collarbone. I have this crazy spade on my neck that I designed. I also have two rip marks on my shoulder blades with bones sticking out of the traditional tears in my skin. That one is probably my favorite so far. For the bones we took a diagram of an exray of bat wings and applied the breaking points as neccesary.

Once I figure out how to post pictures, maybe I'll revisit this thread and post some if anyone's interested in seeing them.

It's.. weird.

She could be part of that "tattoo a word on your body to complete a book" thing, I know this one chick that got "Runs" tattooed on her foot for that reason to be part of a book.

Anyways I have one tattoo, I was going to get a pintsize tattoo BUT it would cost me like 250$ and I just don't have that sadly. :(

Heres the one I have:

Yazyahhnnng... (grimace-noise)

That happened to a guy I worked with years ago.  He had a Pearl Jam tattoo (well, it was some stick-dude from the cover of a Pearl Jam album) on his right shoulder.  Well, he went rollerblading one summer day, and lost control on some gravel.

Tattoo = gone.

When he was fully healed all you could see was the stick-dude's right hand, in the air.

So he went and had the tattoo re-done.  Looked even better the second time around.

I drew and inked a gryphon I'd been planning to get tattooed for my 18th birthday, but due to a combination of lack of funds and lack of balls I never actually got it done. That and I haven't decided where I want it yet.

You can still see it here though. I hope I can get it soon, I'm really pretty proud of the drawing so it would be a shame for it to go to waste.
