Totally hot, actually. I'd totally date a kid with an Urkel tattoo.

Also, when Jaleel White isn't being Urkel, dude is completely hot.

I concur with this statement.

--As for the thewayigroove: your MOM got a trampstamp? Like recently?? How old/cool is your mother? Is she like old, and this is how you be cool, or is she still pretty youngish (before 50) and is actually pretty cool?

My Mom is getting a tattoo, as soon as I get the money for it. Basically it is a rose, with her childrens (my siblings) names around it. I am trying to talk her into signatures, but alas, she hates my brother's handwriting, so she has asked if she can write his...I kindly told her, "Well, it's your tattoo..."

My mom is sooooo cliche sometimes, but I love her anyway.

I am going to resist saying anything negative...except: Please inform your mother to get that touched up as soon as possible. I assume it is fresh, so she should wait a couple of weeks, but like -as soon as possible-...

In a similar note: I was on facebook this morning, and a girl I as in a play with back in high school had posted a picture-folder called "Tats" or something stupid like that, but I took a look...NONE OF THEM WERE ACTUAL TATTOOS!! THEY WERE ALL TRAMP-STAMPS SHE AND HER FRIENDS HAD DRAWN ON EACH OTHER WITH MARKERS!
AAAAAAAH!!!! I wanted to smack her, so hard.

Actually I need my tattoo touched up as well, so maybe she can come with me. Not looking forward to it though as mine is going to hurt like a bitch.

Well, your mom has balls, getting a tattoo at 55, especially a tramp-stamp. Is it her first, or does she have others? If she has others, I'm not as impressed.

Don't worry, it's just a phase. I think almost all parents go through this bizarre "I need to act like a teenager when I am obviously too old to pass for one, so my kids will be ebarressed and understand everything..."

Does anyone know if the rib area is a good place to get a tattoo?
Because I would really like a tattoo on my rib area.  Like right underneath my left boob.

It's her first tattoo. And I think for her it was more about the divorce than reclaiming her youth. She is in the 'I DO WHAT I WANT HELL YEAH' stage. My now ex-stepfather disapproved of body modification (but not adultery as it turns out...)

Ribs hurt they hurt they huuuurt. It was easily the most painful part of my clef.

I think the ribs are a good PLACING --easy to hide, kind of awkward for aftercare, I would think, but you don't have to show it off to people unless you want too... As for the pain thing: Oh yeah. I've heard it hurts like a bitch. It's just very close to the bone, and areas like that tend to be more sensitive.

The ribs are insanely painful from what I was told. I was seeing a girl who was getting a tattoo done in pieces and I was with her for the ribs  and the girl damn near broke my hand.

Well, my plan is to at some point have a bunch of cephalopod, and cephalopod related tattoos, as well as a few deep sea creatures. I know I am completely lame for this, but they are pretty much the most awesome animals ever.

I have to decide on this tonight! Well, if I am planning to get it done this weekend, which is when I'd like to do it. Would on my calf be a good place?Thats where I'm thinking of doing it.

Calves are good places! That's where I got mine, anyway, and I'm getting hopefully a partial sleeve on my other one. It doesn't really hurt much, since most people have a bit of muscle/fat there, and it's easy to show off/hide. I wear a lot of skirts and knee-length shorts in the summer, so my Harold shows, but tights/pants/boots all hide it well.

As long as you don't care about the pain then I think it's a gorgeous place to get inked. I like the Alice picture too!

Ribs are quite painful. I only have one tattoo and it's on my ribs so I don't really have anything else to compare it to but at best it was like being drawn on with a sharp pencil. At worst it was like being repeatedly stabbed with incredibly sharp tiny needles... e.g. exactly what was happening.
I survived it and enjoyed it mostly despite the pain.

croquet tattoo idea

I really like that one idea. Maybe a different picture (more stylised maybe? more line-drawing anyway) though. And the placement I'm not really sure about. Then again, I've kinda gone off tattoos a little recently so maybe it's a better idea than I think.

[fake edit] I might be wrong with croquet, I haven't read nor seen it a very long time.

Calves are good places!

To an extent, but it also depends on where you get it on the calf. I got mine on the upper regions and it started to hit near the bone by my knees and the outline was a bit of suck. Towards the middle was fine, though.

It looks fresh, I think they'll look less misshappen when the swelling goes down probably.

This is the first tattoo of my artwork that I actually think is kind of cool.

PS I should clarify that is not me, a reader sent in this picture of his arm.

So, I've never had a tattoo before, and I'm seriously considering getting one with my friend Ryan when I turn 18 in May.

This is what I'm thinking about getting:

Between my shoulder blades.  It will probably hurt a lot, right?  Since it's going over my spine, and all.  Do you guys think that's too feminine for a dude?

Hmm...  Are you doing it in color?? 'Cause I think it would look a little less femmy if it where done in a gray-shade. I don't like the purple cloud in the background. Otherwise, it looks just fine...

I am getting a bonus-check from work this week, I think I am going to finally take my Mom to the parlor and have her tattoo done --a very, very late Christmas gift.

The first thing you should consider is that the aftercare is going to be an absolute bitch on that one. I would hesitate unless you've got someone who lives with you and is willing to help you slather on ointment a few times a day, as you'll have trouble reaching that spot yourself. We were actually just discussing this in Gabbly a couple hours ago.

Between the shoulders isn't that bad, unless you are super bony I wouldn't worry about it too much. I got my Dark Crystal between the shoulder blades and it didn't hurt overly much, my spine didn't even notice.

Yeah, I think I'd lose the purple bit behind it.  I also live with my family, so I don't think they'd mind.

I'm looking at getting a small tattoo of a lion, maybe on my left pectoral. It's something that's easily coverable and the lion is an important symbol to me, representing values and ideals that are integral to me - pride, honor, courage and loyalty. So it's not something that I'll look at 20 years down the road and thing "What the fuck was that all about?"
