F.E.A.R.- Hyper realism mixed with creepy as shit surrounds and bullet time? Count me in.
I don't want to burst your bubble, but realistic this game ain't. It's still pretty awesome, though. It more than lives up to the Monolith standard.
Right now I can't wait for Oblivion. I loved Morrowind, and Obsidian looks like it's setting out to rectify every complaint I had about it. I hope my system can handle it.
I'm also looking forward to a game that hasn't even been officially announced: I remember seeing, a while back, a screenshot of a project in its infantile stages of development at Obsidian. This was right after the cancellation of Fallout 3 and announcement that the development reins would be assumed by Bethesda, and Bethesda's subsequent announcement that they intended to completely butcher the game. I know that a lot of the people at Obsidian and Trokia, companies made up largely of Black Isle refugees, were angry that the development duties were not given to them, and I saw a screenshot on a forum somewhere - not sure whether it was real or fake - of a guy standing with a spear next to a few wrecked cars in an arid desert. Will this spiritual Fallout sequel ever be released? I don't know, but a possible sequel to the second-best game ever made cannot be ignored.
I was looking forward to Quake 4, but the more I hear the less interested I am. I'm going to try before I buy. I only managed to get through a few levels of Doom 3 before I got bored; as much as I love my Quake, I want to know I'm going to enjoy it before I plunk down any cash.
