Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - A King at Night

I love the part where Will sings: "You fuck and what's to do", then someone shout "You fuck!" and he sings: "It's not your kingdom too"

the glory of oddball humour :)

FAR AWAY!!!

I'm listening to You Forgot it in People by Broken Social Scene, because I am a mindless sheep and I just want indie kids to love me.

. . . Either that or 'cause I really like it and I haven't listened to it in a while, I can't remember . . .

Gene Defcon - Yesses and Nose

So I decided to actually bother going through the downloads linked from pitchfork, and I'm glad I did, cause I'm so in love with this song it's almost painful. Mmmm... black and white worldviews ^___^ Basically it's just so happy and chirpy I can't not love it. And is says yes to good things, and no to bad things, and it makes the world a happy, happy place!

Current 93 - A Song For Douglas After He's Dead

Now this, this is the shit.

"The horizon folds over with a purple sunrise
And the wind carries smoke from a world that is burning
The smoke locks in his hair and he's covered with patterns
And the descent of his life-trees on his camouflaged soul

With a winter of memories carved powder-bone white
Beyond his skull's form a scorpion lies
In the crunch of the snow as his darkness increases
A twilight of ice encircles his teeth "

Oop, and now it's changed.

Blackmore's Night - Renaissance Faire

On my 'Strange Folk' playlist.

This record is old news I know, but seriously: am I the only person who does not 'get' this album? Is it supposed to just be willfully weird, and does some kind of charm eventually arise from that?

bright eyes -- waste of paint

man i love this song.

they fit together, like a puzzle.
i love their love and i am thankful
that someone actually received the prize that was promised
by all those fairy tales that trumped us
And they still do me, i'm sick, lonely, no laurel tree, just green envy
will my number come up eventually?
like Love is some kind of lottery
where you can scratch and see what is underneath.
It's "sorry"
just one cherry
"play Again"
get lucky.
