Is hotlinking generally frowned upon then? I didn't know that... although thinking about it, it does seem sensible.

well, some sites use anti-hotlinking measures, so if you link an image from their site, it: a, doesn't show up at all or, b, is tranny porn. Generally, it yes, is frowned upon.
