Can anyone point me to a good (free, hopefully) .GIF animation program?

I have animated avatars that I want to make... but I have no way of making them!

Don't you have the photoshops? Usually they come with imageready.

Edit: Or this might work.

My copy of photoshop is not... how you say... "legal".

Macromedia Fireworks... eh?  And this is a free program?

That UnFreez seems pretty awesome!  I don't need anything fancy... I can manipulate each 'frame' of the animated gif in Photoshop any way I please, so I really just need a program that will stick the frames together.

UnFreez it is!

Thanks!!!

My photoshop isn't totally 100% legal either but I made damned sure I got imageready with it too!

I am probably on of the few people in the world with legal photoshop, but that is only because I have a relative working at Adobe who got it for me discounted.

Imageready can do that, though? I did not know that, hooray, I'll experiment with animated GIFs when I have time!

I use a program called animation shop 3

It's pretty simple to use.

Plus it comes in a package with paint shop pro 7 (and any paint shop pro after that)

I didn't know image ready could do that either.

Cool.

imageready is a bit of a bitch to get used to

If you know how to use Photoshop ImageReady is really easy to pick up.  Non-legit versions of Photoshop should have it (mine sure does anyway).  Open up Photoshop and click the very last icon in the toolbox and it'll jump you to ImageReady (hover over it and it'll say Jump to ImageReady).
If you're interested I think I have an old tutorial on how to make animated gifs with ImageReady laying around somewhere.

Cool. I'm pretty good with photoshop http://good-tutorials.com">Good-tutorials.com Taught me pretty much everything I can do, I just look it up when I'm trying to learn something new.

Meh I don't need image ready to make animated GIFs so theres not much point in anyone trying to teach me.
