Blue Kitty asked me... months ago... to design an avatar for him.  His only stipulation: "Make it a blue kitty."

I had been negligent in fulfilling this request, for a long time, but I /had/ started work on it months ago.  Started... then forgotten, like so many other projects.

He asked again a few weeks ago how the avatar was coming along, and I told him, honestly, to stay on my ass about it, otherwise it would never get done.

He asked again last night, and the familiar feelings of guilt rose in my gullet, so I promised I would work on it.

I thought I would spend maybe a half hour on it, and leave it to be finished later... but I hit a groove, and 90 mins later it was done.

I sent it to him, via PM, but he hasn't logged-on at all today, and I'm desperate to hear what he thinks.

So desperate, that I am now opening it up to see what you all think (sorry, Blue Kitty, if this aggravates you in any way):

So......... what do you all think?

It's a kitty

It's blue

It's a blue kitty, it passes the test x3 becauseit says "blue kitty" ON it

Is it necessary for it to say Blue Kitty? I mean, the fact that it's a blue kitty is self-evident, and if Blue Kitty ends up using it, that'll just be redundant...

Yeah, I know... but I like having the person's tag on the avatar, as well... I just think it looks neat.

Like the avatar I drew for Fortebass.

(He is still using it, check it out to see what I'm talking about)

Beyond the nomenclature-redundancy issue, what do you guys think of it... from an artistic/graphic/whatever perspective?

In other words... does it look nice?

I assume you like it, BK... if you want anything changed, feel free to ask, I won't be insulted or anything.

I asked Sideways to make me an avatar back in the Sandbox, guess he likes Blue Kitty better than moi.

I'm so sad now.  Gonna go pout like a good adult.

JJ... I totally forgot.

I bow before your feet in a grand gesture of begging forgiveness...

(You just wanted something with JJ in it, right?  Send me a PM).

Nolaw, yes I used Photoshop, and my trusty Wacom tablet.

I cheated a bit.  I found a pic of a kitten, that I thought looked cool, and basically copied the pose from that pic, then just did the inking/colouring/background/etc after that.

Thanks, man!

I've already had two more Avy requests...

At this rate, a bunch of QCers are going to be running around with my art as their avatars.  That's pretty flattering guys... I'm glad you like what I do.

I'm currently working on one for Awkward Silence, as he was the first to request it (by just a few minutes).  It's already coming along pretty well, so I should be able to get to work on other requests within the week.
