After tasteslikeevil's idea of starting a forum for us all to network on, I was actually thinking that maybe we could do banner ads for each other on each others sites? Will make em look pretty too!

On said forum we could post our banners, and a generic random image display code et voila! Everyone can just pick and choose who they want flashing up on their site :)

I don't mind sorting that out, and the forum if anyone's interested :)

Not a bad idea.

I'm having a 'comic meeting' this next Tuesday, with my comic-co-collaborators, and I will mention this.

We're already looking at doing a new website layout, and the design I had shown them had room for advertising.  They said it would be pretentious for us to have adspace at this point in time, but it could easily be used for link exchanges and such.

Wicked!

Well I have space for a forum on my website that we could use (my forum website is remotely hosted) or I could set up a proboards one - either way...

Anyway thats one 'not a bad idea' - what does everyone else think?

Finally, I've been casually pushing for this for a while.  I think its a really good idea to get each set of readers circulating.

I can talk to my web guy when I see him... in 2 weeks.  If he didn't have FTP problems with his school my site wouldn't be such a bitch to work with... or work at all.

Well no worries, in my hour of boredom I've got some semblance of a forum up here www.interact.hippojim.co.uk/forums

I called it interact because, well, that's all I could think of ... but hey! It can be changed!

Um, I guess it has the potential to turn into a mini-Dumbrella or Dayfree, if we feel like it, but for now I think it just sort of works as a forum where comic creators can sort of hang out and compare notes, y'know. And network and stuff!

Are you guys only for daily comics? I've decided that a daily comic is never going to happen for me, but I'll probably start collecting short strips on a site soon and I wouldn't mind joining up to start off strong.

(Soon = anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months in the future. Because I'm bad at doing things.)

Of course not! Mine isn't daily so that would be very hypocritical ;)

We are for anyone and everyone!

I'm working on the resources page right now :) Things like links to tutorials and hopefully some articles from established webcomic artists (yes I will be batting my eyelashes at jeph at some point :D)

So yeah! Spread the word people, Interact is for people to INTERACT!

I've registered, I've meant to post but I've been working like crazy to catch up on my workload due to computer trouble. I'll be posting soon. I'm pretty excited about this, it's got a lot of potential. Plus I've been thinking for a while the web could use some Dayfree/Boxcar type groups for the lesser-known comics, which this has the potential to become.

EDIT: In case you're wondering why I don't get my sorry ass over there and post right now, it's because I'm currently trying to draw a pissed-off Jack Thompson for this week's comic. I want to do a thorough job of introducing the comic on the boards, so I'll do it when I have enough time to get it all together.

Where do you people stand on non-illustrated online serials?  I ask because webcomics were the kick in the arse that made me start writing Instant Life Substitute.

I think it's a great idea, I keep trying to get into your serial but the yellow on blue colour scheme hurts my eyes. This probably isnt the place for it but I thought I should mention that.

[edit]Forgot what I was going to say in the first place.
I have an idea for a project, not a webcomic but definately something that could use typical webcomic infrastructure.  What sort of lattitude when it comes to projects is this forum aiming to cater for.

Thanks for the tip.  The archived episodes are done with white text - does that help?

Failing that, I guess you could copy & paste into Word or something . . .

Copy and paste into word. Genious. Is it a bad sign that I thought of forcing Firefox to use a different stylesheet but didn't think of that?

Yeah, the archived ones are better. Probably also because the background is lighter.

Incidently, your site refers to a stylesheet that's sitting in your My Documents folder.

Inlander, McTaggart, everyone is welcome!

It's aimed at comicking, but in that it envelops writing and artwork... so you could do either or both!

I guess what I'm trying to say is, JOIN!

And Josh, people are TOTALLY posting :D

Heh, I know.  The style-sheet is actually a long-abandoned project that doesn't work, and I haven't bothered deleting it from the html yet as it makes no difference to the site.  Hmm . . . maybe I should?

Also, thanks for the tips - it's given me an idea for augmenting the site that I'll look into implementing after Christmas.  Also, Mollinda - thanks!
